OIS would make lens bigger because more space is required to build OIS elements into the lens to make it works. That's why dslr lenses with OIS are much bigger than those without. f/2.8 aperture is usually suffice for most Low lighting situations. In the order word, engineering challenge. Unless we print or do extensive editing, noise isn't hugely noticable on mobile phone screen. Anyway we use ~24mm more frequently than 50mm with mobile phone?

f/2.8 is sufficient for DSLRs as they have large sensors. Phone's camera sensor is so small even f/1.8 is only average. Though 28mm is used more frequently, no OIS on 56mm lens means that your pic when using the 2x zoom will be very noisy and blurred if your hand is not steady, esp with its smaller aperture and longer zoom.

Aiyo iPhone 7 got hissingate issues, wonder if it will affect much?

Of course it will affect. Esp when you take videos/record audio. All the hissing goodness will also be recorded clearly and loudly since the mic is on the phone itself.

True, haven't tested when recording audio or video. Later got chance I'll try.

Now waiting for Apple to formally address the issue before I go down QCD or A.Lab, go down now later no stock or they say cannot exchange

Seriously, what do you guys expect from a $40 camera?

The camera in the iphone only costs $40 for apple to put in.

You want a good camera, go buy a goddam camera

my fren swears by the iphone camera, so its only $40 quality?

Agree! Mobile cam digital zoom or camera digital zoom.. just as crappy

i was just thinking
if 2 camera = can take 3D photo... still a selling point

but.............

thus, i got my I7-black
which is good, cos my 6S does not have OIS but 7 has !

Never experience anything like that. Do a reset network under settings general reset.

Ok. Just to make it clear for everybody.

iPhone 6S - No OIS, only electronic image stabilisation (EIS, basically almost all phones have)

iPhone 6S Plus - OIS and EIS

iPhone 7 - OIS and EIS

iPhone 7 Plus - Normal lens have OIS and EIS. Telephoto NO OIS, but should have EIS

Samsung Galaxy S7/S7 Edge/Note 7 - All have OIS and EIS
