I think those with the 6s(+) have very little reason to upgrade. Those with 6 and older will feel the upgrade provides better improvements.
I think even from 6 also not much improvement. The headphone jack is gone, camera only small improvement unless you go for 7+. Screen is the same resolution, speed also not much difference and still have to get used to the new home button.

Best improvement would be battery life but then still need to charge once a day so not much impact on daily life also.

Yes, iPhone 7 is not much improved from the 6s but until competitors actually match it, iPhone will always be on top. Just look at Note 7 vs iPhone 7+. Speed is miles away. iPhone 7 is the fastest phone in the market which even best the MacBook Air.

Display Mate has already proven that the resolution of the display is not everything. iPhone 7 has the best LCD ever, even better than all the TV panels tested by DM. Going to 2K resolution will waste even more battery with negligible difference.

iPhone has always been about speed, stability, reliability and user friendliness. Their specs is not always the higher end, but they will always be better than their competitors due to hardware and software integration.

Haters will always hate but the test has shown the superiority of the iPhone 7. Even though iPhone 7 has only a rating of IP67, but test has shown that it can stay longer and deeper in water as compared with a Samsung phone which has a rating of IP68.

Apple has always been very humble with their specs and iPhone always outperform what the specs has stated.

All these claims are not by me anyway. All the test can be found in youtube and online. I am also not an apple fanatic but I really admire Apple as a company and how they always break sales record for their iPhone.

Yup. Their LCD is really good. The best LCD out there. Close to OLED. Might be possible they don't have to change to OLED since they are so close already.

Speed wise, they win for sure cuz of their optimisation. But there are many other things I wish they would improve/change.

iPhone used to have the best camera, but now they are at most on par with the competition only. Hopefully they will do something about it in the next iPhone as majority of the people probably look at the camera quality more than the speed. Speed like those done in speed tests aren't really the most important factor for most people buying a phone.

Nowadays, the only thing on an iPhone that is better is mainly the speed. Not much more. This is causing many people who don't prioritise speed to switch to other phones. For me, the only reason I buy the iPhone now is because of work. Speed isn't that important to me cuz I don't really notice the difference in say to day usage. I hardly switch from app to app constantly like in those speed tests.

The camera isn't the best that's for sure (and apple did not say iPhone has the best camera) and because of the intelligent ISP, user does not need to fiddle with any settings. Just open the app and shoot. If you want more advanced settings, there is always an app for that which is a good thing about it. I would say the camera produces more consistent images as compared to the competitors.

There is a reason why many professional photographers prefer to use an iPhone to shoot and why Flickr has the most photos uploaded by an iPhone.

I agree about the LCD, when i was using under bright sunlight... the screen looked so good. The last i saw such nice LCD was years ago when i was in the android camp using HTC M6... where they call it SLCD. That time was the only android phone that has 64gb inbuilt. Fast forward to today on the iphone 7, the LCD is just awesome.

I've grown accustomed to the lack of the 3.5mm jack. I am using the ipod touch as my music anyway including offline spotify... the storage space is probably going to be used for photos, apps storage. Even then how to burst 256gb ?!!?
Maybe maps apps store the whole world in there ? video recording change to 4K mode from now onwards....upload movies...

6 to 7 isn't huge upgrade for me. 3D Touch isn't critical feature and iPhone 6 is still blazingly fast. But the battery is dying so I might go to some shop for battery replacement instead and wait for the new iphone comes out next year. Hearsay the sound quality from lightning connector isn't good also.

What I meant was in the past, iPhone had the best camera and was consistant. Now, their only good thing about their camera is that it is still consistant in auto mode. However, that one alot of high end android phones also can compete already. Even the consistant part using auto mode.

True that some high end phones have better cameras than iPhones. Many people buy phones based on camera capability. That's why Apple dedicate large part of iphone keynote segment on camera

I've an iPhone 6+ and am upgrading to a 7+ for two reasons mainly, the dual speakers which will be louder than the 6+... hopefully. With the 6 I can barely listen to a podcast or do a call on speaker in a somewhat noisy environment. The second is the front facing selfie camera. Enough said.

But the real reason, since I'm on contract with SingTel why not take the phone subsidy and recontract voucher?
