Ok la i think cmt still can dca
Must think long term
The use of dca is because u dun want time the market
Dca u should pick counters u really like and want to build a key position over long term
If u put like $200 on cmt monthly, two years later become 5k solid position riao

Haha, thats why I love MBKE. I can DCA any blue-chips and some Mid-caps. :s13: Much better than InvestSaver.

DCA is regardless if the price goes up or down.

Perhaps you mean averaging down?

I mean if the CMT price too high (for E.g.), either I can continue to buy lesser share (due to higher price) or I can change counter to DCA another blue-chip/mid-cap (E.g. MCT/FCT).

I thought dca is like accumulated gpa, first time hoot must set good ground.

in this case the ground must be as low as possible?

nope that is a bad mindset

DCA means u just taking market price, be it up or down

DCA is meant for building position over long term... example DCA STI ETF for 5 years at $500 per month.. dun care bull or bear market.. u just buy... so that over the 5 years u get a decent average price that is not cheap nor expensive

however many ppl in this forum that use DCA... i notice they often want to stop dca then the stock price has gone higher... like that they are likely using the wrong product or having a wrong strategy

since u using DCA means u only starting to build your portfolio

the base of the house, use blue chips will be more solid

top dca picks would be

STI ETF
CMT for reits
ST for telcos
DBS for banks

secondary choices
CCT
SH
OCBC

it takes time to build wealth

if u can dca 2k worth of shares for 10 years, end of it u can hit 300-400k portfolio... do u know that?

In the long run of say 5 10 20 years, dbs will only be worth more as earnings and book value continues to grow
Same for sti etf
