$3 still can buy ? :s31:

PE: 13.79

Current Yield: 6.78%

dividends 20 cents at 3.00 is around 6.6% yield

if dividends cut to 16 cents is around 5.3% yield at $3.00

buy and hold long term is ok

but short term may kanna shocks from 4th telco or rate hike news, hard to predict

Between SH and M1, which would be a favorable position for someone who have yet own any telco shares yet? So far, I've got MCT,CCT,CMT for REITs.

Going to telco next week.

Still feel the same about FCL

Just that reits dropped 10% plus previously and the 5 reits i bought is around 6% yield on cost
Higher yield than FCL's 5.5%
Also 45% on reits already, dont want too much exposure to property
FCL i earned 2% capital gains so i am still happy about it, originally wanted to exit for 10% gains or better but seems like i lost my patients lol

Going to telco next week.

For newer portfolios its like building a house
The base must be solid
So probably should go for the blue chip first
SH and ST, then lastly M1

MCT mid cap (future blue chip)

generally for a solid portfolio, I would advise to have at least 50% in blue chips as base

the rest.. u want to add more blue chips or go for mid caps or even higher risk small caps.. up to you

but basic is at least 50% blue chips

during GFC 2007, blue chips like banks/telcos are the ones that recovered

during crisis... small caps will have problems renewing debt.. banks will avoid them, investors will not pump money into them

during crisis... blue chips will be saved... can you imagine DBS/SIA/SINGTEL going down and thousands of people jobless????
