My Reno is simple doesn’t require power supply.
Vinyl flooring, just clicking
Drilling the drill is battery operated
Aircon installation does it need power supply?
After everything is sorted, I’ll activate for lighting & extra points

I also rem in my previous Reno not a BTO, an EM resale, I only activated SP when I move in.

How do they do renovation if we deactivated the SP?

I bought this sink on promotion, do y’all think e sink is too big for BTO kitchen?
I haven’t even confirm any ID or contractor yet.

Currently i using similar kind of double bowl sink, I notice that I cannot put my wok inside to wash and it always splash. So I gonna either go for single bowl or double with at least one side of the bowl with width at least 50 cm so that I can put my wok inside.

Not true, SP officer confirmed any water/electricity used before account activation will not be charged.

I see..

What I understand from reno firm that without an active sp services acct, they would have issue getting the reno permit..

But then again if they need to use power tools or cement mixer for the reno, u will need power anyway..

So for those who needs it, not recommended to ask them not to activate until moving in.

If Aircon needs to cut/hack a hole then yes they would need power.. And it's like 99% that they would need to make a hole..

From the other thread it seems like u need cement screed to be done, so how do you expect them to mix the prepacked cement? By hand?

Believe you have already activate the account from your post in edmw..

If you have yet to sell your first house by the time you collect your key for 2nd house. You still have to pay the mortgage for both houses.

@Yuppie98
what the f, your experience really scary. This is why have to do all the proper procedures before entering the house. You are incredibly calm still, haha.

Im also super worried about this qn!!! My hubby’s family say to claim that its our house only after renovation done. But i seriously dont feel comfortable cause its been empty for quite some time. And you know its like visiting the hotel.. most ppl said to knock and alert ‘them’ before entering.. smth like that :s scary leh

No la, definitely not after. When you enter, you have to already claim it. The place would have been occupied by some "guests" as it had been empty for some time. If you do after, during the reno *touch wood* many things can/may happen. Missing items from workers, things getting broken, doors locking, etc etc. You need to do it first in order for your renovation to go smoothly.

A friend told me that she and her husband ignored this totally and moved in. First it started with them having small arguments then it escalated to shouting and throwing things. The last straw was when she saw him sitting at the dressing table in the middle of the night, combing his hair (as if he has long hair) in the darkness :eek::eek:

I’ve moved many houses already, and seen it since young about 9 years old from friend’s house, hotel, Apartment overseas, new places I’ve moved to. That’s why so calm but some are real some are my suspicions.

Actually every house you need to claim one, be it new or resale. After a period of time when its empty, things are bound to dwell in there, we (humans) are not the only being that’s living/ sharing this planet.

So here:
Your contract entitles you to the house. It allows you the rights to permit those that you grant access to the sanctuary you build. So it’s very important you know that, and whether you’re scared or not you must fight for your home, so you must be brave. “Tell All uninvited guest to leave your premise” I don’t negotiate with them when it comes to my property, when I was younger I tried, they’ll just abuse you. (When I was in my 20s I said ok don’t disturb me, I’ve an empty room u can stay there, omg it type “Get Out” on my computer! )
So You must “always” remember you’re the HEAD of the house.
Whether you say it in your heart or in your head or with your mouth you tell those that you do not permit entry to LEAVE, and you leave the doors & window for them to exit. If u nego, you’ll find fights & quarrels at home.
Although my aunt is very rich because she make peace with it over a tin of rice, e thingy ask her never to leave the rice container empty but not everyone have such courage.

P.S: uhm having said that salt & holy oil is also very important for front door hehe. But Yano all in all we human are superstitious no matter what religion.

Wa! You encounter such things since young?! I think if me, already freaked out! Type GET OUT on your computer?! Thats insane! Im on my way for my keys collection now. Excited! Haha
