Hi to all. Newbie collector here. It took me a loooong time to finish reading the thread... :O

Erm, I have a friend going to Japan next month, so I'm asking him to get nanoblocks for me, especially the postcard ones and other limited stuff (chimpanzee, okapi etc.) They don't seem to be bringing postcards in... or does anyone have any inside news? ;)

Do you all know if the usual shops (Big Camera, Loft?) also sell postcards or does he have to go to the nanoblock shop? Also, is there anyone else interested in the postcards (pelican, duck, santa + reindeer, polar bear, snakes)?

Ah one last thingy, is there a Tian An Men nanoblock? Cos' I can't find it in the list at the fanpage site...:s11:

You can get the postcards at Loft or Nanoblock store. Chimpanzee is only available at Bic Camera.

Do you think we are able to use Ver 2 of the Tokyo Sky Tower and build it without the shopping annexe (aka similar to Ver 1)?

I think there are some differences with the 2 towers, ver 2 looks "fatter"?

By the way, does TBS have any member scheme? What are the other niche SG stores that stock Nanoblocks?

Lately there is this new US series of Nanoblocks, I quite like the USS Enterprise. Anyone bought it yet?

I received mine on Tues. Havent opened it. Price dropped after I ordered. :(

now that you mentioned it. I noticed the body too. The design of and the bricks used in ver2 is more similar to the mini version of the tokyo sky tree. and thus it has a more triangular shape. It should be a tad easier to make.

I think modifications could probably be very possible. Just make the base a sole LED light base.

As for LOCAL niche stores. I personally feel TBS is the most comprehensive. There's rapid culture, colourful blocks, simply nano.

If you are talking about retail front, I think only TBS and Rapid Culture?

I blame the distributor for retail stores except those Japanese stores like Isetan for being too slow in bringing the products.

actually. I think Isetan also gets their collection from the local distributor...that's why the product range is exactly the same...

Local distributor basically only brings in things that they think they can earn $$ from. They have no interest in developing the community. Can't blame them either.

These are assumptions, derived from the actions.

"Rilakkuma" and "Korilakkuma & Kiiroitori"

Hi,
I'm new to nanablock.
May I know where can I find the instruction for "Rilakkuma" and "Korilakkuma & Kiiroitori"?
Or can anyone send me the building instruction?

Thanks in advance.

Both Rilakkumas are actual kits that you can purchase.
They are mostly sold out around already. Though I believe I saw the Rilakkuma available on Simply Toy's website (linked a few posts ago)

Even if you get the building instructions, scanned by someone, you would not have enough parts/pieces to make it. The colours used are pretty unique.

haha yeah :) i just got the xmas tree. :D

Just saw pictures of this year's collection.
They are pretty nice! Esp the Christmas House (2012)

I don't really like the 2011 range with the exception of the Christmas House (2011). 2010 range was much better.

Short-sighted people...haiz.

Maybe it take someone to be famous on newspaper to spark the interest? :p

nice! Thanks for sharing.
In the words of a person who formerly frequents here, "If want to collect, collect the whole series"

Yamato should still be easily available. Akagi will be hard to get. Without breaking the bank.

box is crushed badly, so no box, but the bricks are inside the plastic bags and instruction is there as well. i wanted to keep a set as MISB but too bad the postage is sucky :(

haha...take it slow. Try scouring auction sites of other countries like Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong. Some of my rarer pieces were from Yahoo Auctions Japan and HK.

You would like the new zero wing fighter then...it's pretty neat.
There's the PEACH airport too...I don't like it though.

You used SAL for shipping? Straight from Amazon US?
