Need some opinions here. I want to build the Sesame Street characters esp Elmo and cookie nomster and maybe groutch.

Is it worth to purchase the basic color set, or buy them from their pack (Elmo & cookie)?

Also where can find affordable basic color set? TBS selling at $99 :(

Elmo and Cookie monster. Just buy the standard release. If you just want to make the design, don't bother buying the standard sets.

If you wanna make Oscar, you have to find standard kits with tons of greens. IIRC, the Buddha statue? But I am not sure how many you will need.

Which is the purpose of the wiki site some of us are looking into setting up. To provide information on the kits.

1 standard set can make elmo, big bird, cookie monster, and with quite a lot leftover depending what u want make. I made another ver of Tokyo tower, big bird, woodpecker, stitch, guitar, Xmas tree, Xmas wreath. I think around there.

The prices for the USJ sets are quite steep, and i dunno how well they can carry their value if BNIP. Most likely i'll go for the basic color set, then follow Chris' instructions. His vs the official build have minimal differences, only Cookie's mouth and eyes (2 blocks instead of 1) can i see the difference, but no biggie, can customise. And it's not like Chris' build is ugly or what. I'll do more research :o

True, i'm leaning towards the idea of the basic color set already :)

Actually I was referring to the blue standard set. If u getting the grey box basic set, u should be able to make more than what I stated. Hmm

maybe i'll go to TBS to scout, see which color(s) suit my needs. i would want to stick to official build's color as much as possible, for elmo and cookie monster.

from google images it's hard to see if the blue or grey box suit my needs. i can only afford 1 of them.

Aiya.. U just want the Elmo and cookie monster ar? Blue one more than enough already. My cookie monster was built from dolphin and Elmo was from the spare reds I gotten from different set.

Wah! Nice!
Thanks for the effort man.

Now we need more people to volunteer to contribute! Nothing too crazy! Just count the number of pieces (based on the instructions) for the kit you own

I already have the instructions for the official scanned and somewhere on my album. But would like to encourage you to get the official kits. You will find its cheaper. Unless of course you do it like how cowie does. But...I don't like putting bricks of other colours inside my pieces =x

Long time no see, so many things have changed... @.@

I don't mind supplying some product photos I have even I'm not a diehard collector.

I think we can take some examples from amazon when displaying the info of the product, and then the release date and any useful info/review.

Anyway, what is the font did you use for the page?
