that's the official website for nanoblocks. of course it would be cheaper, it's the default recommended retail price (RRP)

You might find certain outlets (i.e. BIC Camera) that sells stuff slightly cheaper even. (100-200yen cheaper)

Sets are rare mainly because they are out of production.
You'll have a much higher chance finding rare sets in places that do sell Nanoblocks but low demand, than in Japan. (i.e. Taiwan/HK) as they might still have stocks from a few years ago.

It's supposed to be a TW exclusive and should be cheaper?
I got them off TW and didn't really keep track of local prices.

I just got back to hotel from there. They having 10% + 10% discount on some items. Super cheap compared to sg. Couldn't resist and bought 7 items. Saw a sg lady buying a whole bunch of items when I entered the shop. Is she in the thread too?

Ya .. in the past there were only the china (?) brands but these days I see some Korean brand in toys r us placed right beside nanoblocks and they cost maybe just half of what nanoblocks cost. It does kind of feel weird that another brand might win over new collectors etc because of the lower price. But personally I feel that the Korean brand doesn't look as good (or maybe I'm just biased lol).

Pixel Block you mean...

Given the current range and unique block design that is incompatible with other blocks, I think the brand is more catered to Korean side as it has Maple Story kits.

The export range compared with Nanoblock is nothing impressive, so I don't think it is going to take a significant portion of the market share on the international side.

For now I can say that now the nanoblock scene is a collector's paradise; you guys are spoiled with so many to choose from.
