what makes you think LoZ applied for the licensing.

even if they didn't for the casual person who fixes microblocks its a new product avenue to explore for Kawada.

The original nanoblocks producer is loosing out on business outside of Japan because of the rampant distribution of alternative microblocks.

Most people do not care who the blocks producers are, they go to the hako box type of shops see a cute design and buy it. Unless they happen to walk into a toy shop or Kinokuniya are they likely to get an official nanoblock set.

Given their tie ups with Universal Studios Japan, its surprising that alternative blocks producers had minions but till date no original minions.

Same concept with the Sailor Moon set. Being both Japanese companies it would be easier to get an official licence with Bandai if Kawada wanted to.

I do have my grouses with Kawada in regards to their extremely lousy international business sense for the past 6 years.

However, in regards to Japanese product licensing...it's quite a complicated issue with royalties involved. Even if Kawada wants to obtain a licensing, the companies might not be keen.

Kawada while a company with a reasonably long history in Japan, isn't that influential.

I always wait for 20% at departmental stores to buy. The last time I went, BHG tampines does not have nanoblocks. But I might be wrong..

Daiso - cheap and good! But I haven't seen any that can fit the sight to see series (do correct me if I'm wrong)

Muji - saw some nice display casings which should fit the smaller nanoblocks. Can't remember the price.

Custom casings - Some pros here use these. You might want to get the contact from them.
