I have been using the op6 for two days now. No issues so far, liking everything except for these few:

Keyboard haptic feedback:
The default haptic feedback is abit strong and changing it to a lower value doesnt change anything. So i disabled it. Using gboard by default.

Camera quality:
1) Auto focus issue, oneplus will fix this via OTA
2) Whenever i snap a picture, then i look at the picture, the picture taken seems softer than the actual image shown in the viewfinder.
3) Try to use 3rd party camera apps like instagram in low light, the picture will be very soft like water painting.

Apps compatibility:
1) Instagram stories feed kena cut off a bit at left and right side

My main concern is the camera. Hopefully oneplus improve it via OTA. So far no issues, i manage to root the phone via magisk and using some of the mods like viper and youtube vanced.

The instagram getting cut at the sides also apply to the 5T, with the gesture mode. without the full screen gesture mode it's fine. if it's possible you can try switching off the gestures (ie, enabling on screen buttons), that may solve the problem. of course downside is that it's fugly la :D

Using op6 here. This is probably the fastest 845 around. Compared to the mix2s, subjectively this seems faster.

Camera is fine. Not bad. I find it faster and easier to use than v30. External speakers are average.

Pretty good battery life too. Had abt 6hrs SOT today, with an hour Hotspotting and 45min maps. Left abt 15pct.

Next I'm really looking forward to mi8.

Had my oneplus6 for two days.. So far so good.. It's much speedier compare to my mate 9.. Battery life is not bad too for a 3300mah batt.. I get like 6hr+ SOT.. With around 12% battery life.. Among the 6hr SOT.. 3hrs I was gaming(DN and DB Legend) ..

So far I find the camera quite good.. It doesn't over processed an image as compare to other brand when using hdr mode or portrait mode .. I do realize that my screen preview always look sharper than the final photo..

Yup thats what i notice too. The screen preview image looks sharper than actual photo taken. Not sure if it's an issue or it is meant to be like that.

I know quite a number of guys here already have the OnePlus 6

But I'm not seeing fantastic reviews and comments. Is it that the negative comments at OnePlus 6 forums are true?

https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/oneplus-6-questions-answers.838740/

Too much hype in the beginning with much disappointment now?

:s8:
They r complaining due to price vs what u get.
Oneplus had increase over the years thus when we give more $, we expect more.

One of the negative comment, like batt %.
As it uses notch and follow apple style, the batt % can only b view when swipe down

If u r buying oneplus u shd know what u want.
For me,
1. Its a (high) midrange price with flagship spec
2. camera is not a primary need
3. Near stock experience

But I don't see great comments either. Your reply just confirm that those issues at OnePlus 6 forums are true

:s8:

Dont be so naive, think of how many units are sold worldwide, in India/UK/USA etc. There are probably millions of units sold versus hundreds of "complaints" in the OnePlus forums, some of which are repeated users if you look closely.

For me, the OP6 is fast and battery efficient (contrary to a handful of Oneplus forum users, mostly from India). I am also loving the near stock android experience on the phone. The only issue I have is that the speakers are kinda soft, which will be fixed in the next update.

If you are so worried about the issues, I think you are probably better off with a Samsung lol.

Some of the problems I read from the OnePlus 6 forums include

1) Hunting (focusing) of the camera
2) Vibration too soft
3) Notification sound too soft
4) Speaker volume a bit low
5) Fast battery draining
6) BT audio volume low
7) EIS/OIS issue. Needs phone reboot to settle it
8) No AOD
9).....and others

Any software update so far? Somebody at the OnePlus 6 forums seems to get update.

OnePlus 6 is a great phone but at near to S$1000 and having many software issues I feel OnePlus is just interested to push a phone into the market and waiting for feedback to resolve the issues.

Can these software issues be resolved before the 6T launches.....with another round of software issues?

On the batt % issue. Batt % should be on the homepage and not swipe down to view. It's just a stupid decision.

I'm not saying the OnePlus 6 is a lousy phone. Yes, it does not have top-of-line hardware like QHD screen, certified IP water resistant, no large battery, no wireless charging etc but at close to S$1000 the expectation is there that at least many software issues should be resolved before launch

The battery percentage and some other issues will be fixed via software update. Those that cannot wait for this to be fixed just buy other phones else can wait for it

Most of users won't go there to complain if they have no issue using the phone, and majority of them won't write review about the the positive. They are just the ordinary users.
That place is to feedback (issue).

Just don't use it if you don't like

Yes, I know what OnePlus 6 phone is. But at least software issues should be resolved (if indeed they are software issues) even though it does not have top-of-line hardware

Feedback on issues which shouldn't be there in the first place before launch? If those issues are hardware issues then there'll be a quality issue, no?
