Ah.. i normally don't go for their mid range phones. Sucks that they're not as on the ball when it comes to updates on those devices. It does have those apps, but i've been able to disable most of them on the phone itself, like the telco apps, AVG, Amazon, facebook app manager, etc. Even some Sony apps like the Lounge. Some of them can't be disabled, but only a small handful of non-intrusive ones. Maybe they lock it down for mid-range devices, which would really suck. haha.

Haha. for me I don't really pixel peep that much, and i've seen a bigger improvements on the XZ2 in terms of grain and image processing. for me it's mostly down to the style of image processing.

Like i'm looking zoomed in images from both phones here, it's really not as bad as it used to be. Ignore the lighting though since it's taken on different days, but the image processing itself is not that aggressive anymore. haha.

Wow sony looks way better in lowlight, agree that their image processing is better.

Well good thing about op6 is the xda development is active. The stock cam is not really that good in lowlight. I think the sensor got more potential than this. Right now google camera mod is out for op6. I can safely say that it improves the lowlight quality. Maybe u can use that app and compare with sony xyz.

So I just dropped by mobile hardware at Burlington Square just now and installed the tempered glass. Seems like there are 2 types. Both Klasy brand. One of them is supposedly full screen ($25) and the other one is not ($15).

I went for the full screen option. Its very thick and they will recommend to paste both options over the oem protector koz they said it will stop the sides from popping out. In my honest opinion, it's of good quality but I can feel the thickness as it snags on my fingers when I use gestures. The edges are not 2.5D curved. On top of that the black bars at the sides overlaps the screen by quite a bit that it is irritatingly noticeable. I wouldn't recommend it. Waiting for other reviews b4 ditching this one.

Actually I like the oneplus 6 image better.. It look more natural and less "processed".. The Sony night scene looks too warm and more saturated imo..

Lowlight is also not bad, but the larger pixel size and OIS i think helps the OP6 a lot, but Sony is not bad too. Not the most natural looking, but instagram-able. :s13:

But totally understandable where you're coming from. I've tested all their flagship series since the Xperia Z2, and the image processing was a **** show for a long long time. lol.

So u installed it on top of the original film protector? Didn't know glass screen protector can be installed on top of film. No wonder it's thick

Heya guys sorry to interrupt, I'm having trouble with the Google pay on oneplus 6
I've already setup my Google pay , turn on NFC, but it just can't seem to process when I try to scan for payment at the cashier . I quickly tried my wife's phone Huawei, and it got through without problem.

I've check the settings the tap and pay has already set Google pay as default

Thanks in advance

Which part are you scanning at the reader?

The NFC antenna is only circulating around the camera module..

Re

Hi

The alert slider only has 3 modes : Silent, Vibrate and Ring

Can check whether you can have vibrate and ring on at the same time like when in a noisy environment whereby vibration is much better form of notification. However, having both on at the same time is the best

Thanks

just SIC, it has been few days since i installed mobile hardware TG, its fine, sides still sticks well. just that the sides have dust, which is a common issue no matter which TG u paste. i took out original film protector anyways

I have just saw that they have a loca glue based tempered glass for oneplus 6 (like the whitestone). good for those whom paste a normal tempered glass and have gaps at the side due to the irregular curve of each phone

Anyone whom tried already can share feedback?

U installed the Local glue based TG? Is it edge to edge? Any black color borders on the sides and the top part?
Many thanks for sharing
