Well, OnePlus phones are not known for good camera, so if want good camera have to spend more to get flagship phones likr pixel phones, huawei phones or samsung phones. Use OnePlus mainly for its OS and pricing only. Have to live with the decent camera.

But it is very decent. And if you don't pixel peep it's really good.

But to be fair if I compare it with my S9 Plus, in back lighted signs, the S9 tends to overexpose it causing it to have just a blotch of white light, whereas the OP6 exposes it correctly. So can't just write off the OP6 that the S9 or P20 Pro takes consistently better shots. I have all 3, and the OP6 is still my favorite overall.

read on oneplus 6 xda forum . very helpful there . if not if you can travel to yishun northpoint i can help you flash since all the files is on my laptop already . treat me to a starbuck mocha frap will do :s13:

two ways of doing .

1 is using fastboot method to flash the fastboot rom.

another 1 is download the full rom place in the root folder and go
system update to update.

using fastboot method requires more time. i personnel have been using the fastboot method only. the system update method i never try before but heard its easlier and do'able .

Thanks bro! That's not too hard. I have 2 sets of 1+6 red 128gb 8gb ram waiting to be shipped out from China, anybody interested to get 1 set off me at cost price ? Keke

I can't seem to update to 5.1.9. Always stops at 85%, with error "update installation failed". Updating via the download from Oxygen Updater.

Bootloader is locked and I went into recovery mode to clear the cache, still the same error.

Android P DP 3 also got released. With new UI designs and animations which is buggy if you use Gesture controls.

I updated from the latest 5.1.9 without wiping. It seems this P build is properly working with encryption unlike the ldher other Android P builds from OnePlus. A wipe might not be needed after updating.

is there a need to unlock the bootloader first?

1) unlock bootloader
2) place latest stock oxygen rom in root folder
3) proceed to recovery menu, select the stock oxygen rom and update

is that all ? i went through XDA but unsure if i am following the correct link.. example below

https://forum.xda-developers.com/one...-twrp-t3792643

Unlock bootloader is for rooting

There's no need for this is you are just updating
