Since SSDs require no seek time, and retrieve information much faster, Cerny said that the PS5 targets a load rate of 5.5 GB/s. In theory, that’s almost 10 times faster than the PS4.

Then again how often do you trust the tech writer department.

1) Reality check: Samsung 970 PRO has 3500MB/s sequential read and costs USD$169 for 1TB.
What, you want even faster? Samsung PM1733 goes up to 8GB/s using PCIe 4.0 * 8 lanes. In other words, the same bandwidth needed as your PCIe 3.0 16x graphics card. That's why the Samsung 970 Pro above is a realistic example of real life performance using PCIe Gen 3 * 4 lane, which has a bandwidth of 3940MB/s

2) 10 times faster than PS4? 5.5GB/s divide by 10 = 550MB/s. No HDD in the world has that speed. And that speed coincidentally is the same speed as a SATA SSD after it maxed out the SATA interface. And PS4 never came with SATA SSD although you can upgrade it to one.

Hence the 5.5GB/s load rate is likely a misunderstanding. Even if the SSD can handle sequential, it is unlikely to handle it at 4k IOPS. Plus, CPU has to do work during load, too.

Considering point 2), the possible guesses are:

a) Interface speed, which is attainable. PCIe gen3 x4 lanes is 3940MB/s, bump it to gen4 and you get around 8GB/s. However, a 5.5GB/s number doesn't really make sense here.
b) Some stupid target number because some guy said "10x faster than PS4's SATA interface".

The speed is > 5GB/s in terms of loading data from the drive. The entire IO controller is a custom design from Sony.

The 10x faster than PS4 isn't the case as you mentioned. Even if you change the PS4 HDD to an SSD, it comes with a SATA2 interface which maxs out at 300MB/s. The Pro comes with SATA3.

Sony Says “Majority” of PS4 Games Will Be Backward Compatible

... reason some game may be incompatible is because PS5 runs at higher frequency, so some games may need to be fixed. Sony will work with original game developers to make games backward compatible.

Introducing DualSense, the New Wireless Game Controller for PlayStation 5
https://blog.us.playstation.com/202...w-wireless-game-controller-for-playstation-5/

"we adopted haptic feedback, which adds a variety of powerful sensations you’ll feel when you play, such as the slow grittiness of driving a car through mud. We also incorporated adaptive triggers into the L2 and R2 buttons of DualSense so you can truly feel the tension of your actions, like when drawing a bow to shoot an arrow."

"We also took thoughtful consideration into ways to maintain a strong battery life for DualSense’s rechargeable battery, and to lessen the weight of the controller as much as possible as new features were added."

"you’ll notice there is no longer a “Share” button as we had with DualShock 4. Don’t worry – it’s not going away. In fact, we’ve built upon the success of our industry-first Share button to bring you a new “Create” button feature. "

Sounds like some form of HD rumble. The mushroom cap of the analog sticks looks to be different material based on the photo, hopefully this one won't erode over time (I will still be using thumb grips though). One big complaint I have about DS4 is that the Options button is way too small and not risen higher, looks like it will still be the same, bummer, this one seem to have more space there, why can't they just make it bigger?!

btw, based on the color scheme of the controller, you can guess that the PS5 console itself will have a white+black look.
