There is no PS5 disc version of GOT... you are correct that inserting the PS4 version will give you higher frame rates on your PS5.

I think likely you R0 is not really Region all... could be R1 and hence why you can’t play. Please check the link below and hope you find your solution...

cause if not wrong, the free upgrade is kind of like DLC instead of just software update, so due to region cross issue, end up cannot update it

Currently there's no native PS5 version of Ghost of Tsushima. It doesn't exist. Free upgrade also doesn't exist. Ghost of Tsushima is a PS4 game. No PS5 or cross-gen version. PS5 is simply running GOT via backwards compatibility with performance boost, just like God of War & Days Gone.

For it's single-player story campaign, it doesn't matter which region disc you purchase. Every GOT PS4 disc, irregardless of region, will work on every PS5.

Make sure to select Resolution Mode in GOT in-game settings for 4K 60fps while playing on PS5 (Avoid Performance Mode as its 1080p 60fps)

Guys, I had just received SMS from TOG on PS5 confirmation. They had inserted a survey link for you to pick 3 collection days/dates with No.1 being highest priority. It's coming!
