btw, just wondering which model is better - disc or digital? what's the diff between the two and is it worth the xtra $$$? what i can think of is that for disc version you can buy 2nd hand games etc whereas for disc version you can only get your games from the online store?
Definitely disc drive version, hence the higher price. For me, its an easy choice & a no-brainer.
+ Better to have 2 options to play a game (PS5 disc model can play both digital & disc games). Rather than limit & restrict yourself to just 1 option (Imagine a friend lending you a PS5 game disc or give it to you as a gift. Yet you can't even play it on your PS5 DE, as it doesn't have a disc drive).
+ After completing a game or you dislike a game & regret the purchase, can sell/lend/trade away the game disc.
+ Can buy used/2nd hand game disc.
+ Faster to install data from disc to SSD. Compared to downloading a game from PSN.
+ Backwards compatibility with PS4 game disc.
+ Can play 4K Ultra HD Movie disc & Blu-Ray Movie disc.
PS5 Digital Edition, you'll end up paying more in the long term as you're locked to the price on PlayStation Store, since you can't sell away any games to recoup the losses (Though I know there's often sales/discounts on PS Store)
Perfect example is Demon's Souls. If you have PS5 Digital Edition, the only option is $97.90 on PlayStation Store, since there's no sale for it so far. If you have PS5 Disc version, you can spend much less as Demon's Souls is currently $50+/$60+ on Carousell (I bought it for $50 in Dec, only a month after release. Compare that to the price on PlayStation Store. There's no way it'll be discounted to half price after 1 month)
