I was playing ZZZ on my PS5 pro when I received a notification to reboot my console for a feature update.

I rebooted it and the classic PS1 boot animation came up together with the PS 30th anniversary logo.

Quite cool.

Bloodborne is my top 5 games of all time. I really hope they remaster the game, or better yet announce a sequel.

It is also one of my favourite games, just beat it again this year (solely to platinum it, cos short of another ending). Maybe a remaster and ps5 pro enhanced version would be more likely. Unless they have been secretly making a sequel and want to stun us next year during the 10th anniversary, which I am highly doubtful about.

From what I've played/completed over the years, these are my favorites for each console generation (excluding PS5):

PS1 - Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil 2, Gran Turismo 2, Spider-Man (2000)

PS2 - Shadow of the Colossus, ICO, Resident Evil 4, Metal Gear Solid 3, God of War 2, GTA: Vice City/San Andreas, Burnout 3: Takedown

PSP - God of War: Ghost of Sparta/Chains of Olympus, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker/Portable Ops, GTA: VCS/LCS, Killzone: Liberation, Motorstorm: Arctic Edge

PS3 - Metal Gear Solid 4, God of War 3, Uncharted 2/3, The Last of Us, Heavy Rain, Infamous 2, Motorstorm: Pacific Rift

PS Vita - Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Gravity Rush, Tearaway

PS4 - Uncharted 4, God of War (2018), Spider-Man, The Last of Us Part 2, Shadow of the Colossus Remake, Driveclub

Imo the best era of gaming is PS2 & PS3. Least fav is Vita, it's the worst PlayStation by a mile in terms of game library.

It's better to keep low expectations, so you won't be disappointed. I doubt there's any major plans for 2025. At most, Sony will probably giveaway a Hunter PSN Avatar to commemorate Bloodborne 10th Anniversary

However with that said, and this is just speculation on my part, my guess is development for Bloodborne Remake (not remaster) is already underway, at least in the early stage. It's a Sony-owned IP & they definitely must've seen the numerous fan demand & calls for a new, upgraded version.

I can see it releasing as a PS6 launch title & console exclusive (not on PS5), so at least 4 years away in 2028. Killer app for early adopters at launch & a major selling point for current players to upgrade to new hardware.

Obvious candidate would be Bluepoint, which helmed excellent ground-up remakes of revered PlayStation classics under their belt - Shadow of the Colossus & Demon's Souls.

Hidetaki Miyazaki's interview earlier this year seems to suggest he knew a remake is in the works at Sony, but can't say anything about it, presumably due to NDA. If there's anyone outside of Sony who knows of any Bloodborne-related project in development, it's probably him.
