My last Playstation was the PS1 (one). Considering the PS5.

For Playstation owners, are we stuck with the SG eshop, or is there an option to be on the US shop? For my Switch, I had to be on the US eshop as the SG one is terrible with many games not available.

SG Playstation store not so terok like the Nintendo one, has like 99% of the content in the USA store.

Both. I have benefitted fairly from the catalogue - value gained already exceeded the subscription fee.

Update: because of less than 29 days, they just rounded it down as a targeted promotion. Not bad can try it for one month, especially the Game Trials for new games.

I am left with 29 days of my Extra subscription and I can actually upgrade to Deluxe for these 29 days for Free ($0.00) with auto-renewal disabled (just to enjoy this month only).

Anyone encountered before? I checked via Gemini and it recommended me to grab it.

For me, currently have around 100 or less physical PS5/PS4 games, PSN library had slightly over 700 titles (including PS+ games)

Right now mainly playing on my retro handhelds (Konkr Pocket FIT, Mangmi Pocket Max, Mangmi Air X, Anbernic RG35XX and Powkiddy RBG30).

Have been replaying DQ8 (at 2x res) on Pocket Max for past 2 weeks now, reaching over 150 hrs playtime. Bought it for the PS2 way back then, and also bought it again from Google Play store few years back. Once finished will probably start Rogue Galaxy.

I don't play online or multiplayer games, my PS+ sub is mainly for the monthly games, and it is expiring in May. Still undecided to continue the sub or not considering I have tons of games on PSN yet to complete, plus now spending more time on retro games.

Few days back ordered a fighting stick that has built-in spinner and trackball, always wanted one to play those classic MAME arcade games that use them. It will be used with my MiniPCs running Batocera OS.

Due to RAM and NAND flash demand causing prices to go up, Sony is raising prices for the PS5 in many countries, better get it ASAP, even at current retail price.

My basic tier left 17 days, $4.17 to upgrade to Deluxe and $2.17 for Extra.

SG Playstation store not so terok like the Nintendo one, has like 99% of the content in the USA store.

Just did a check on my US PSN account, there are roughly 250 purchases on record. Around 1/5th of that are for the old PS3, PS Vita & PSP.

Out of 200 odd US PSN titles for PS5/PS4, around 60 of them apparently not found in SG store.

Below is a brief breakdown:

- There are 7 Cotton games (classic arcade shootemup) in US store but only 2 in SG.

- A few of the games I have are like just announced or just launched recently in SG store, e.g. Andro Dunos II, Ganryu 2 Hakuma Kojiro, Car Mechanic Simulator, Dungeons of The Deep. Note that they only costs me US$1.79 to US$2.99 each as I bought them during heavy discounts back then.

- Below are games I've purchased that are older versions from their respective game series, seems like many older versions of game series were not released on SG store compared to US, i.e. Sniper Elite V2 Remastered, Sniper Elite 3, Sniper Elite 4, Shadow Warrior 1 & 2, The Walking Dead Season 1 & 2.

- SG store also randomly skipped inbetween game versions, e.g. they have Wild Arms, Wild Arms 2, Wild Arms 4, but no Wild Arms 3 (which I've bought).

- Many US games in my library are arcade/shootemup/beatemup etc which weren't present in SG store, i.e. Night Slasher Remake, 9 Monkeys of Shaolin, Cotton Fantasy, Cotton Reboot, Rainbow Cotton, The Hong Kong Massacre, Cobra Kai Rhe Karate Kids Saga Continues, Project Root, New Star GP, Retro Machina, Sword of The Vagrant, Ara Fell Enhanced Edition, The Takeover, Fury Unleashed, Zombies Ate My neighbors & Ghoul Patrol, Sturmfront The Mutant War, ADK Damashii, Metal Slug Anthology, plus a whole bunch more!

- Some classic RPG/dungeon crawler games purchased in my US library, Crystal Rift, Vaporum & Vaporum Lockdown, The Bard's Tale IV Directors Cut, Earthlock, Operencia The Stolen Sun, Knights of Pen & Paper 2, Vambrance Cold Soul, Demon Gaze II, Bastion etc.

- There are games on SG in Chinese only where I bought the English US version, e.g. Valkyrie Chronicles.

- Some interesting and unique titles, Firewatch, Submerged Hidden Depths, Yoga Master ( I actually went for quite a few yoga lessons many years back), The Wolf Among Us etc.

- I would think Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 by SEGA is a pretty big title, not sure why it wasn't in SG store.

Above are just based on my own experience, on titles I've bought in US store, others may of course have a different summary depending on their game preference.

My recommendation is to have both SG and US accounts on your PS5, wishlist all games you are interesed in on both PSNs, and check them when there are sales. Sometimes when games are on sale on both stores, the US one can be much cheaper. The same can happen the other way around though less often.

It's nice for Team Ninja to include some QoL (quality-of-life) improvements such as the ability to reset your earned levels, skill trees and inventory management in Nioh 3.

It doesn't punish you for experimenting with different builds and from the previous games, the amount of loot is astronomical. The same goes for Nioh 3 but they have auto disposal for e.g. common/uncommon weapons and equipment as you progress through the game. They want to give players the ultimate flexibility to craft your build in details. I actually didn't spend a lot of time with the blacksmith in the previous installments. Maybe this time I will.

And now it becomes open world, even more flexibility to explore, discover and chart your own route. I guess this will be a looooong game.

wtf i remb seeing the PS5 slim 825gb for $569 islandwide promo one or two months ago, but didn't buy. $764 for an aging platform is unjustifiable.

Think I'll have to stick to my Switch2 for now. Got that for $496.

No thanks to the semi con industry making RAM and NAND Flash storage etc for data & AI centers, reducing supplies for the consumer market.

Not just the console systems themselves, 4TB and 8TB M.2 SSDs also shot up in price. Should have gotten another 8TB stick last year, around $900 on Amazon then.
