Just got the call from one of the local stores for a few units that they have put aside for other ways of getting the PS5 on day 1 (19 Nov).
Couldn't be happier. I held out completely ignoring the scalpers. Really wished I could play Miles Morales with the PS5 and poof, got the chance.
And yes, I have an LG C9. So I am utilizing not just 4K 120Hz but also Variable Refresh Rate (VRR similar to G-Sync and FreeSync) for an even smoother gaming experience. So I can completely utilize the console and games on day 1.
I am already utilizing that 4K 120Hz with VRR with the RTX 3090 too since I have a beta TV firmware that solves the black screen issue when VRR is enabled at 4K 120Hz.
Anyway, for those who held out, there might be a chance that more stocks should arrive by the time of the launch. So like with the 2nd batch of preorder rounds, I do also notice that the scalpers pants dropped and the pricing of their PS5 also dropped during that period. So something to take note of too! But if possible, just make the scalper market as dry as the Sahara. So there'll be no more of this nonsense in the future. Only buy from scalpers if they are selling it at retail or at a loss.
So as I mentioned, more stocks should be available on day 1 of the launch. So target shops that do not have any waiting list such as TOG. Play-E has a very high waiting list. So chances of you buying at stores is low since they'll confirm reserve those stocks for their waiting list buyers.
