The Alipay dont allow sg credit card, It says must use local china credit card. I tried youtrip as well cant work. Any workaround?

The next sale will be 12 Dec.

Taobao used to have 4 major sales a year: 38 (8 Mar), 618 (18 Jun), Singles’ Day (11 Nov), and the year-end sale (12 Dec). They gradually added other sales, such as pre-sales for 618 and Singles’ Day. I believe there was also a CNY Year sale this year. Check Taobao’s Facebook page regularly for promotions.

Appreciate some advise as a first time taobao buyer.

1. I bought 6 items during the 11.11 sale and 5 have already arrived at the warehouse for shipping last week. There's still one item that has yet to be shipped. I contacted the seller a few times about the delay and he said there's not much he can do since its handled by his warehouse.

Should I cancel the order and get a refund? Or are such delays common?

2. I understand that I need to pay for the goods first and then make another separate payment for the consolidated shipping. Is there other ways to save on this shipping cost?

3. How do i check on my delivery date to SG? on the app?

@DW, have your 5 items been packed and shipped to SG yet? Taobao sometimes ships items in multiple packages at no extra charge, so you just need to wait for the final shipment. If the 5 items haven’t shipped, go to any of the 5 items in your order and track the progress. What is the deadline for shipping if not all the items have arrived at the warehouse? If the deadline has passed, you can contact customer service and request that the 5 items be shipped first.

Then, patiently wait for the last item. If something is wrong, it might be automatically canceled and refunded. Otherwise, you can manually cancel the order later if the wait becomes unreasonable. In such cases, I wouldn’t even bother trying to order again.

Taobao sales often operate through drop shipping, meaning the item may no longer be available. Although there are many sellers, they often source their products from the same warehouse. If an item is out of stock, it will be unavailable regardless of which seller you choose.

I just got notified that the items will be delivered between 6-8 Dec.

Do the delivery guys call before coming down? I would prefer if someone was at home to receive the items

That’s great. Delivery guys usually don’t call, so you’ll need to monitor the status until it updates to “目的地分拨点发出.” This usually means the package is out for delivery on the same day, but for me, TSG often delivers the next day.

This is Best Express, known as 百世 in China. I’ve had good experiences with them, although many people complain. I believe Best Express and SingPost handle large and heavy packages shipped by sea. I’ve contacted Best Express multiple times via email, and they have always responded promptly.

In my experience, Best Express Taobao tracking status has been accurate so far ,ie, “out for delivery” means the package will arrive on the stated day.

I always thought I was only entitled to one ¥55 shipping voucher per weekend. Grabbed one on Saturday and checked out today. Then accidentally found out I could grab another one today. What a pleasant surprise !

Now hope my cheap stuff arrive safely.

ordered item through desktop.

come to payment, choose alipay (rmb)

pops up qr code, use alipay to scan.

alipay linked to youtrip card.

a bit of correction. Per transaction not over rmb200, no 3% fee. In another word, if per transaction is rmb199.99 and below then no 3% charge. Once hit rmb200 transaction and above, 3% will be auto included.

I think valid for 6 or 7 days but can only grab on weekends. I am pretty sure I went to the relevant page more than once, but was only issued one. It was only after I used the voucher on Sunday, then the second one was allocated to me. Something like that. I am not 100% sure what is actually going on though.

Ah probably I grabbed that on a weekend and only utilised it a few days later..lol

Anyway, I can confirm you will be able to get a ¥55 shipping voucher each on both days of the weekend.

I see. Thanks for confirming. The weekend before last I used only one ¥55 voucher. Then midweek wanted to buy something but had to wait until weekend to save on shipping. If I knew , I would have grabbed 2 vouchers first.
