i also noob, i started mid-2015. from my observation:
singtel cannot buy if above $4
accordia golf trust cannot buy if above 0.6x
STI ETF cannot buy if above 2.80
not say 100% cannot buy la. but these stocks dont move upwards alot once they hit the price range tat i mentioned. hope u understand wat i trying to say...
another way is u go yahoo see the historical prices of the stocks u wanna invest in. if the price pretty close to historical high, den best is u siam far far. if not u buy liao will have huge difficulty selling...i learnt this from experience.
thanks for all the help on sgxcafe. i no goal de. maybe just to earn more side income n beat the miserable bank interest rate LOL![]()
guess i needa go some seminar.
hmm shld i just cut losses for my singtel and enter agn since its still under contra. sitting on 1k closed profit dunno if shld cut now at least my port till 400-500 green
you ish superinvestor
o ya just to inform you. It doesn't mean that you invest in blue chip stock means you will profit. There is no hard rule in investing.
Wait, are you a trader or an investor???
investor ba but my portflio frm start until now is trading cuz started 2 mths ago and mainly vested on penny ( i cleared all liao w profit )
That's why buy low. Downside limited. Since I buy low. Worst case is some lossessThen you shouldn't be looking too much on the movement of stock price all the time.
Its your psychology mind that needs to be fixed.
If you buy Singtel @ $4 dollars, IF it drops to $3.5. How do you feel? This applies to any other stock you are going to invest. Investment is not a bullet train. It is not today you invest, tomorrow you will be rich. It takes time and experience. You think everyone has their portfolio all GREEN? That's where diversification comes in. Don't throw everything into one basket.
- Never invest money you cannot afford to lose.
By the way, I'm in no position to decide for you to buy/sell. It is your money. Decide on your own.

If buy high, downside more. Like u bought at $4. Drop to 3.7 or 3.5 amd lower is possible.
That's why prefer buy low. But hor becareful miss the boat.

But hor if u nv put yourself into the ocean to test the tides and wave. The only problem I see is that you are investing with money that has a huge emotional tag, and you cannot afford to see it fluctuate. This is already a big big drawback. You should put the money in ssb or fd first, and wait till the emotions become milder. It's not that you don't have the money or need the money urgently, it's really the emotional factors behind that money, and how it came about.
