Day 2 from taichung to chiayi quite impossible.
Due to the fact, you need time to get to xinwuri station by train.
Then HSR to chiayi hsr station.
From chiayi hsr station, still need to take a bus to chiayi train station to take the train to fenchihu. So mafan.

OHHhh....

I was thinking Taichung hotel uber to Taichung hsr, then take to Chia Yi. Thought the chia yi hsr next to the train station to take alishan 火车。

How would u plan?

Thanks all, ya understand will be quite xiong
Have discussed with the group, Day 3 will be alishan to cingjing
Day 4 will be cinging to hualien
Our group wanna explore as places as possible leh
Estimated each journey takes 3 to 4hrs ba if no jam, so when reach the next location just nice for hotel check in?
Still in the midst of discussin of the itinerary but we already bought SQ tix for 19 Oct to 28 Oct

Sent from Samsung SM-G935F using GAGT

2 consecutive days of long travel, means basically can't do much else. If I were you, I'd opt for 1 day travel Alishan to Cingjing, then stay 2 nights, so that I have the entire next day in Cingjing to enjoy. Then continue journey the following day.

19 - 28 is 10 days, so I guess you have sufficient time to explore the rest

Those electric bike at kenting is it safe to ride? I have no road experience except road cycling in sg. I see the road in kenting like very easy, no traffic light. Can I just ride slowly (25kmph) and stay at the left side? I have no fear when lorry or bus zoom fast beside me..just that I don't know the traffic rules in TW only.

Sounds OK except please keep right, not left ;)
If you are used to road cycling in SG, then 25kmh will seem quite slow :)
Not sure about Kenting, but a lot of intersections in TW require you to stop in a designated box when trying to make a left turn. If you've been to TW before, you should recognize this set-up. Bicycles and motorcycles use it.

Suggest to take train from Hualien to Taipei. I took the road trip in Dec and while it was scenic, it is one of the most dangerous highways http://www.dangerousroads.org/asia/taiwan/4838-suhua-highway.html. Need to book train early though and don't miss the qi xing tan, beautiful beach with pebbles, not sand.

Suggest to skip Jiufen as the crowd is terrible, even during weekdays. Nothing much in shifen too, IMO. Tan Siu is very nice and the street is wide, good for leisure shopping.

2 nights of cingjing is over kill.
You will likely be better off with a night ending at sun moon lake, second night at cingjing.

You will need a taiwan bank account to do transfer.
No two ways about it.
