WeibChen: what's the diff btw silver/copper hybrid and pure silver? I'm deciding between these two.

pure silver is forward sounding and bright, it is dynamic and some people refer to this sound as" cold/cinical" if you like details, alot alot of details, you like silver.

silver/copper is 50/50 inbtwn, it is bright but is not as harsh with more warmth you will get best of both world.

think of it as ying and yang- white is silver/bright sounding, black is copper/darker sounding.

It depends on the biasing of your entire setup, the key is to have enough of both yet bias it slightly towards your taste.

Too much of either will not make the sound good, how much is too much will depend on you.

Oh okay. The type of cable my LOD is using to connect to my amp, will it affect the sound from my tf10?

from my observation - the cable/component closer to the signal/source, bias the setup the most.

It will add to the sound but it depends also on your amp and dap.

actually in this case I think its better that you test your TF10 with the rest of your set up before deciding which cable to get

sry i forgot to add good customer service for audiohub in that post. cos ive had great conversations with louis ling from audiohub. how would my 3 posts above be stirring shiat? can you explain. actually may have something to do with my mood cos im still pissed off at viaddress and im waiting for 10 pm to come which is when i can call viaddress and give them a piece of my mind
haha chill lah bro go take a cold shower first before spamming them again. :D

i think its the general tone where you said those who got money or got golden ears go order from null or audiohub, and then your post
can u answer my question? i may be set on es8 but i believe im still can judge things fairly. as such, im asking you questions. so, let me ask u, am i the one who is biased or u?

which he replied here http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/showpost.php?p=50893131&postcount=1074/ Also applies to water pipe what, the bigger the pipe the more efficient the water will flow. that much holds true for the gauge of cables, but materials wise ie Silver, Gold, copper, etc....

i don't want to answer about resistance of the materials - that one is for those who believe cables makes no difference in sound because they believe that copper is a better conductor of electricity - so by right having a silver x copper hybrid will negate the conductivity of silver which i beg to differ from what i personally heard.

moreover you alrdy say you on a budget - common sense dictates that a gold core will never be cheaper than silver or copper unless we are talking about mundorf's 99% silver and 1% gold cable, but imo that cable is pure BS coz it sucks when i last used it.

moi ish newb nia, so whatever i post might not be true for each individual's ear :(

1. Gold is not unheard of in cable. Xindak, a china company had it when I was young, not sure if they still do. More applicable for us might be the murdorf gold/silver with 1% of gold. It is available locally, but I am not sure if it will be too stiff/bouncy for portable audio application. I think it is used as wires more hookup inside your equipments.

2. The below is what I found out with interconnect, so maybe iem cable might differ, but I believe it shouldn't.
Pure silver is not always brighter. It can be better or worse than copper wire, depending on what you are comparing with and type. 1xrun of Silver+ 1x run of copper can be better or worse than just pure silver or just pure copper, as in the sound might be muddy and veiled. Reaon? I don't know, just experienced it. The 1x run of silver and 1xrun of copper was recommended at the shop, but after some trial and error plus a lot of time wasted to braid and unbraid, I found that if I only have the copper, it was good. If I only have the silver, it sounded even better. Yet if I have both, it wasn't in-between, but worse than having just either of them. For me, the difference between the silver and copper is more of airiness and the imaging. Other than that, I honestly think that I can live with either of them. If I didn't listen to one before the other, I might not be able to 100% tell which is which. Both cable were the 7n teflon sleeved from artaudio at chinatown there, so I assume quality should be the same. Braiding for the test was just simple braiding like how kimble do their pbj, tonik, etc. No cotton or other fancy material or sleeve or anything.

Same goes for silver plated. Silver plated cable of lower quality can be even brighter than pure silver solid core. Reason? I honestly don't know, but just had the issue.

Hey bro, I'm interested. When must I confirm my order?

Now I am seriously considering letting all the bros who are interested in getting custom cable to first receive their TF10s, have a good amount of time listening to them and understand in which area(s) they want to enhance. weibchen had given us a general idea of what traits the different material will impart on the sound. It will be best to organize the MO again a few days (to a week) after receiving the TF10 so that everyone has a better idea of what to get. That also includes how you guys wanna wear the TF10.

May I ask who are interested in the cables but their TF10s are still stuck in US?

Good idea bro.
Mine is still stuck at US. I think mid December then will receive.

To weibchen,

does it mean that if i use the tf10 with an amp or dac, using a better plug would make a difference? So if i just use it with a DAP, the normal Pailiccs plug would be sufficient right?

175 USD actually does not include Oyaide plug. By default, the cable comes with Neutrik plug, upgrading to Oyaide will add another 10 USD. Suppose shipping is just another 15 USD. Total may be around 260 SGD or more. Now that's quite a lot of money.

I also say.
I'm happy to earn the money hehe but I don't want to sell you things you don't want to use - to me as a product maker make me feel sad.

Most of the cables I custom for people, either gets "stolen" from relatives or passed on for better ones..

Nope.
You're still running on batteries lol, output is not much to spend that kind of money.
I'm talking about those 50-100 watts class A amp - people who are playing mono blocks - pre and power amp with speakers the size of your fridge.

So normal plugs, even the neutrik ones is fine.
Pailiccs just look nicer.

Just got my TF10 from a fellow guy here..I got the one with retail box rather then the black box..

Initial impression with stock ear flange is that the IEM lack of bass so much as compared to my Eterna.. but after using the double flange from my good old crossroad x3i.. the bass is actually quite good.. high are clear and good(felt a little harsh after listening it for a while).. if the bass pack a little more punch it will be good..

Any recommendation for cable which will change the sound signature slightly? leaning toward abit more bass..and a little less highs..
