Seriously, why do ppl still changing in CS/JB Custom/ Komtar areas, these places do NOT provide you with best rates anymore. Of course, if you are just need S$100, then don't waste the petrol to JB town to change that.
With Komtar opening, rates are comparable to Singapore, if you are changing 200, 300 S'pore dollars just to shop. Much more convenient just to change there , no need to specially go to moneychanger in Spore. Rate difference is about 50 malaysian cents for a S$100 change.
Also last Thursday when the drop was from 272 to 276 ringgit to 100 Spore dollar, you will find that, like our petrol kiosk, the moneychangers in Singapore will not give you 276 so quickly, they take about 3 or 4 days to finally up their changing to 276. (Else their loss will be high for those money they had already changed earlierat poorer rate). Its different at komtar. They gave 276 while most gave 273 in Singapore.
So when there is a sudden drop, for the initial few days komtar is better than Singapore. Of course not City Square where they operate a 'cartel'

Go further in that one, rates slightly better based on last Sat when I was there. The first one which you see upon entering using the bridge was $276.50 while the one further in (near Metrojaya) was $277

Yup, Starbucks just opened. They're doing the final touches when I was there Monday evening. :D

Once you pass Starbucks, you'll see a sliding door with escalators going up and down. Go up and you'll see 1 money changer, then walk into the mall to the other end, you'll see the other one next to GNC, near a set of escalators too.

I used to go to the one inside too, until recently I realized the one outside gave the 50 sens difference if you change more. Friend and I went on different days, we're going on longer/further trips soon, so changed a bit more and got the difference without having to walk all the way in. :)

Tried changing more with the one inside before, they just wouldn't budge.

Each money changer is at different ends of the mall, so you'll have a little good exercise. =:p

It's time you explore JBCC as well, anyway. :s13:

Agree. Will do. hows the pricing at JBCC?

You mean the shops? I see them as more upmarket than the ones in City Square. But good to explore, especially when you've not been there.

Check out the foodcourt as well, if you like Indian food. ;)
