Komtar yesterday was 276 at both moneychangers. For min S$100..
while all City square changers, only 100m away, still give only 272.
Obviously komtar changers not in 'cartel'
By the way Metrojaya opened yesterday. 3 floors

Yes,agreed. I changed SGD100 for $276.50 a few hours ago at Komtar's entrance, near the link bridge. The City Square changers just won't budge.

Yes, there is a limit to how much ringgit you can buy, just like a limit to how much you can bring in/out of SG and Msia. In Singapore, MAS requires money changers to keep record of those who sells more than SGD5000 at the counter.

I notice some retailers scan the MYR50 dollar notes under UV light. I guess there are counterfeit MYR50 notes around. Do take note.

Seriously, why do ppl still changing in CS/JB Custom/ Komtar areas, these places do NOT provide you with best rates anymore. Of course, if you are just need S$100, then don't waste the petrol to JB town to change that.

Rule has been there for a while.

No matter you are local or foreigners, above Rm5k you declare.

All the money changer have the facilities to scan and record your IC/Passport.

To save the trouble break into multiple times to change that RM5K.
