The camera looks decent. You can wait for the Cybershot phone if it's launch at the end of the year. :D

My opinion is that Sony has been too aggressive with the hardware sharpening function. one may not notice it on the 5" LTPS display but when the photos are displayed on a computer display with a lower PPI count, the visual artifacts are all too apparent.

Apparently deactivating Bravia 2 does not alleviate the issue hence i concluded the sharpening mask was applied just after the hardware level.

so why does a sony give samsung len but its picture quality still beats htc one and xperia z?

proof is on even on xperia blog - this show xperia blog is not sided with sony only is fair and square
Camera shootout: Xperia Z goes up against the Galaxy S4 and HTC One | Xperia Blog

:s13::s13::s13:

but to compare camera

1. S4
2. Xz
3. htc one

but i would advice him to use his own eyes to do the judgement
but the user skills matters too

The lens given to Samsung is a normal lens without the Exmor RS and maybe made in China while Exmor RS is strictly made in Japan so taking photo under low light is superior compared to the normal lens given to Samsung.

Guess the performance of the lens are not being maximized due to the instability of JellyBean. Let's hope the new update will improve the camera resolution as you can see that it happen to the Xperia SP too.

Brother, everyone using Xperia Z already know that the battery is not seasoned yet when you first bought the phone and give it around 2 weeks of continuous charging, the battery life will be good after that so do not worry about it. =:p

You will be surprised that the battery life is better than the Sam Sung Phones out there.

what do u mean by 2 weeks of continuous charging?? just charge it to 100% and let it continue charging for another hour?? and do it for 2 weeks??

No la. Normal usage and charge as per normal then you will see the battery life improve as time goes by as the battery cell has not seasoned.

Android the OS itself collects usage data for the battery management.

All Android phones will requires 1 to 2 weeks of normal usage for the battery to be under full performance.

Definitely better than Sam Sung phones as their camera are given by Sonyand just a basic lens compared to the one used in Xperia Phones. Just have to play around with the settings to get a good photo as the JellyBean is not stable at this moment so awaiting for updates.

I never no into details on this but Samsung using Sony camera Technology when they have their own camera department?

I guess it is time to do some reading.

Thanks for the information and regarding 1-2 weeks for the battery to be seasoned is based on physics which is the battery cell just like car engine, you will need to run in first when new.

I have been using Sony phones since the Ericsson times and their battery are same throughout which require charging for 1-2 weeks, Android is not available at that time.

Yes, they can have their Camera department but I only believe in precision engineering or refinement. Talking about their camera, you can have a try on their dedicated camera or even the Galaxy Camera comparing the quality with the Sony Cybershot low end camera, you will see for yourself the photo quality difference not just comparing the phone camera.

From the link provided, I can see that the New NAND Chip will be brand under Toshiba which Tablet Z is using so the older chip is still brand under SanDisk which Xperia Z is using.

How many of you guys turn on Bravia Engines? I know it is for pictures and videos only... but does this make the screen resolution look better?

Does it drain battery much? Sony Xperia Z Bravia Engine and Camera Example - YouTube

I just leave it on as it really enhance the photo and video which you will not see such quality in any Sam Sung phones, my friends always wow at the photo or video I show them on my Xperia Z as they are using Sam Sung phones.

My Xperia Z also hit 50. Was running a few apps at the same time. Downloading movies at the background and surfing Ebay. Hit 50 and I did not realise cause was not holding in my hand. The system ui fail then I realised the Phone running hot. The phone was Damn hot that I need to do a reset and temp was at 49 after the restart.

Running the ZL and the temps are pushing 46. N I'm just on regular online surfing the net. No intensive gaming.

So, these kind of temps are normal?
