I truly suggest those having issues or even no issues to do a pc repair for every new firmware update as some apps you have in your phone might be corrupted while upgrading the firmware. =:p

so this is what sony is giving buggy updates same as others
so funny someone kept on say sony always test their software :s13::s13::s13:

blue screen? BSOD on a andriod hahahahaa

Can't connect to Starhub 3G

Hi, just got the Xperia Z this afternoon, and cut my SIM from Xperia Arc S to fit the XZ.

That's when I found out that I cannot connect to any kind of data using 3G at all. Voice calls and SMS still work, but mobile data doesn't. I already had 3G mobile data on the plan, so not sure why I can't use 3G mobile data, even though I haven't subscribed to LTE. Use of data through Wifi through a mobile router works well though.

I've tried going to the Starhub shop, they are only concerned that the SIM card that I use is self-cut, and "it will affect data..." which is bull****. I've verified by inserting the cut SIM Card back to my Xperia Arc S, and data works on that phone!

Anyone encountered this problem before? Please help - what should I do?

Cheers

anyone got any idea where do i find the phone usage tab :o

You may go into service mode by going to 'Phone > type *#*#7378423#*#* > Service tests > Total call time', but it only shows the total call duration.

If that doesn't gives you the info, then you may visit Play Store and search for apps that log call data.

Just go to setting under Xperia. Click on the Internet & mms setting then choose okay. Once finished download and you are good to go.

What buggy updates are you referring to? The new updates have included many of the improvements according to end user's feedback like the following :

1) Noise when taking photo with the camera
2) Security Flaw when using password or pin screen lock
3) Changing the Top menu or bottom bar to black colour
4) Adding of White Balance Control

Some of the above features are from user's feedback and some are the improvement for the existing android firmware as JellyBean is still not in the stable stage though 4.2 is out but there will be higher version coming as well.

At least, Sony did a test on the firmware which preload with the phone so that it is stable and users do not have problems like hang, lag etc when using the phone out of the box unlike Sam Sung, it simply lag out of the box.

He's referring to the issue reported by Fyero92 after he updated.

And since this update does not involve any kernel or Android version upgrade, I'm puzzled as to why we have to wipe the phone data (i.e. do a repair via PC Companion) just to have it working perfectly. In my view, updates should be seamless and have no impact to the end-user, as much as possible. Having to wipe my phone of its data and restoring everything again is too much of a hassle for a small update.

My 2 cents worth. :vijayadmin:
