Btw, those of you whom had upgraded to 4.3. Are you all also using Power Toggles also? I noticed that the tether function on Power Toggles is not functioning properly ever since the os upgrade...
Back then at a click from the widget, I can switch on and off the tether easily. Now I click it but cannot on. So I had to set the Sony new Quick Settings to have the tether in the pull down for the ease. Anyone can advise if there is something wrong or could it be some settings I missed out?

I am actually quite happy with Z. If really need to find fault, it will be the lack of accessories in the market. I always have to end up googling in taobao and also not many choices.
Btw, I believe this charging case was in the market for sometime le, but just that it didn't really hit our markets.

I have been seeing the charging case/power bank wireless charging set in taoabao. But I didn't like the idea of having a bulky powerbank casing so I never got it. Finally they dropped the powerbank concept and went casing and wireless charging only.
It will cost ard sgd40 before shipping and forwarding fees. What do you all think? The only downside is I don't get to show off my purple color le lor...

looks interesting... anyone using it yet?
would be keen if there is a MO for this

There are some speculation online that Z2 might come out in april 2014. I wonder if that is true? Can't decide if I should get Z1 now ( seems a little late since Z1 is out for quite some time already?) Or should I wait for the next sony phone.! /:

Just got back my Xperia Z today from Bishan service centre..

erm..died like on Monday...cannot on etc..

quickly sent to Bishan for them to check..they asked for invoice/warranty etc..i quickly emailed them my pics of it..

guess wad....

internals all changed...

seems they changed electronics inside..motherboard..battery..blah blah..wah..

so technically...i have a NEW xperia Z.. now charging for virgin 8 hours..heng..didnt changed the screens..i installed glass protectors on it..

today off day(monday) gonna use it to take pics at Universal studio..let's see how long it can last ..(together with my XZU)

Nowadays batteries no need to charge 8 hours.

Just charge it frequently to prolong the battery life, no need to wait till it drops to low battery or goes flat.

Sudden Mobile Data no Signal, Xperia Z problem or M1 Telco Problem

Hi All

I got my xperia z phone from Adix83 shop at burlingturn square on 25 April 2013.


Setting for mobile data is (WCDMA Prefered/GSM) as I don't have an LTE 4G plan.
Recently I face no mobile data signal issues

Thats what prompted me to update from 4.2 to 4.3

However its been 4 days since I updated and it issue happen again

Nothing can bring the mobile data signal back (tried on and off mobile data/airplane mode) until I turn the phone on and off

It happen to me twice today in the past two hours.


I have factory reset the phone after updating and restore back only the photos from my micro sdhc card and some ringtones

Is this a Xperia Z Phone issue or M1 Telco issue?

Thanks for advice if anyone else is facing this issue.

I'm on M1 too but never faced issues with network loss while using my Xperia Z. I assume that you've already gone to Settings -> More -> Internet settings and let the device download the settings?

Under Mobile network -> Network operators -> Search mode, it's configured as Automatic or Manual?

i got my phone from M1 too and using M1 line . Never had any problem at all.

I think it's time to bring it to service centre. Don't think it's a telco issue.

Edit: or you can try 1 last thing: set the Search mode as Manual and select 3G SGP-M1. See if the problem occurs again. If it does, it's really the device issue.
