How come there seems to be quite a few issues with the Z so far. Is this normal for 1st batch phones?

Yes. it is normal. as long as it is not hardware problem can lah. unlike samseng sIII, after 8mth of usage will become brick as reported in XDA.

but let us cross our finger nothing happen.

Teething Issues. This is early adopter issues. I m sure Sony will iron out with the new batches to come.

It happens not just Sony.... look like Samsung and Apple. All the same, be it software or hardware.

press power button + up volume button for 5 sec
once it vibrate then go of the button

Hello All. For those with notification LED problem even after factory reset,

Please use PC companion and select 'repair' under Phone Software Update. After which, It should be working just fine.

Use this method when Factory Reset Method don't work.

Bright Pixel. If you have your adaptive lighting option on, off it and tune your brightness to the max and check. Adaptive lighting will masked out the bright pixel.

how to see if got bright pixel. It just look brighter?

You will see one bright dot of white. If it is a black dot then it is dead pixel. If any other color besides white or black, it is a stuck pixel.

I m encountering bright pixel issue on my screen. Called them and was informed that no spare part to change. Quite Sianz also. And the CSO have the cheek to tell me that I should have marched back to the dealer whom i bought the phone from to do an exchange.

I was like WTF. Not everyone have the luxury of time to move around. Got to Work to Eat man. Some ****ty customer service experience.

When purchasing "hardware" products, it usually comes 7-day exchange policy, any faulty product is available for an 1-1 exchange with the retailer, after 7 days, then it's the service centre.

Anyway, Issue kind of resolved. Sony will reserved a new screen for me once the parts arrived (Mid March) and will inform me to proceed to Bishan to change it.

Spoke to the dealer as well, must say he is good. Offered to change the phone for me but I declined as I took Sony's offer. But should I take up his offer, I might have to wait for weeks as he feedback to me that supplier might take their own sweet time.

Well, just live with it for the moment. Anyway once the adaptive lighting option is enable, the bright pixel cannot be seen. it is only visible when I on that option and blast the brightness to the MAX.

But overall despite the lousy experience so far, I have nothing much to complaint about the phone. Solid piece of gadget. prefer the screen over my old S3. The photo taken are more natural in color. The only drawback is the slow shutter speed but that is acceptable for me.

The exchange policy only stand for 7days.. after that retailer wouldn't make the exchange anymore. 7 days is the standard exchange policy from supplier, unless stated else, like Intel motherboards, it's a one month 1-1 exchange policy, but the retailer will tell u that the faulty need to send for servicing, and always keep asking you to wait and wait...

somebody posted that candy crush saga can't be install fr play store. I had tried to download the candy crush hd version apk file and installed successfully.

looks fine for my Xperia Z than. Saw some of the white pixel on my old Xperia S

I love the viewing angle issue/characteristic of my black Xz, prevents busybody from taking a good look at my screen Screen is great IMO

I find the incoming call output/volume too soft though especially at noisy places, anyone have any remedy?

Camera wise, a bit slow to boot and is ok, not bad or good, I hope Sony improve the camera software. Guessed I'm spoiled by lumina 920's too awesome camera (I pass my perfect condition lumina 920 to wifey whose loving it over her note1)

it is awesome. The viewing angle is better than what I though it is.

I found this option in the call settings and you might want to enable to try out whether the call volume is better.
