hi all, just got hold of this phone. initially wanted the N2 but saw this phone and it's awesome design plus screen so i got this instead, the purple xperia Z.

however, i have weird issues. i was trying to download and install the better battery stat apk from xda. while i could download and load it, pressing install does nothing. only the cancel button works. anyone else with this issue? i have enabled the option to install apk from other sources.

the other thing is, i have no LED notification for whatsapp or Line - any fixes for this? i'm still on page 3X of this thread.

p.s: will rooting require unlocking the bootloader? if yes, will unlocking bootloader void warranty even if i re-lock it? been reading xda but the replies are quite scattered.

With the stamina mode activated, LED notification will be disabled. Try using BatteryGuru instead of stamina mode.

From what I heard, HTC is the only one who said they will still honor warranty from rooted phone. Having said that, rooting and unrooting, flashing customize rom and back to original rom is as easy as a snapping your fingers, XDA got tons of instruction on it and with Sony quite opened policy to custom rom, i.e. Cyanogenmod, you shouldnt have to worry too much.

Can try use 2x battery instead. Been using it since Xperia arc days, haven't really screw up the notification LED on the phone.

sigh..i think my xz audio jack going to up lorry liao i am using my um3xrc with effect audio appollo cable.....then using neutrik jack.....dunno is it the jack to heavy and pulling the xz audio jack...now sometime the sound signal will lose 1 side...have to tilt the jack a bit then audio on 1 side only will come back.

what should i do now ?

yes I am using 2X battery and it does a pretty good job better than the Stamina mode I have set the data connection to 5 mins so whatsapp and viber sync messages every 5 mins ( not a huge delay ) but stil u save quite a bit of battery so now when i go home from morning charge I have about 28% still left.

how do u set the data connection to 5mins? Pai seh...

Guess you better down to service centre and ask them to replace a new set for you since the black spots are getting more and more.

From one black dot to several. It looks so bad right now. Might find a day to send it to the service centre. Somehow, those black dots don't look like dust to me...
