Eh .. dun blame you for giving up so easily.

Enjoy your flagship Mi3

The way ASUS has handled the situation has left a bad impression. How their facebook responds when its favorable and just disappears when its not, leaving everyone in the lurch. Not to mention the already long waiting times even without the delay.

Reading through the reviews, the Zenfone can be summed up quite easily

-Fast (For its price)
-Build Quality is great
-Could be smaller ( large bezels)
-Dual 3G SIM Slots
-SD CARD SLOT!
-2GB RAM ( Extremely important. Android is such a resource-hog its ridiculous)
-Poor battery life
-Disappointing camera
-Screen not very bright
-No backlit buttons

@ $199, its a no brainer compared to the Redmi. The 2GB RAM is well-worth the price itself and the Intel chipset is superior to the MTK ones. Once the 1S is released though...

However if you don't need dual-sim and SD Card expansion isn't that important to you, the Mi3 @ $299 is the price-performance monster.

If u really cant get use to having non-lit capacitive buttons, u can paste some luminous markings to help u ID the buttons in the dark. It works!

i guess many are so used to physical button or printed button.
this "poor lit button" is to provide user the exp of "full screen without viewing distraction"

your idea is neat. Bravo

Why do u want to put a tempered glass on the ZF5? The ZF5 is already using gorilla glass 3. In addition, i find that the screen is too reflective. The only thing i need is a matte SP.

Temper3d glass gives additonal protection is drop at corner.
The glass with crack...not the screen.
On top of it, it returns the same clarity..n smoothness. Some plastic sp gnerates heat when screen is constantly "rub"

Gorilla glass is not sensitive to scratches...no scratch proof.

My TPU casing gives more protection than any tempered glass SP. :s8:

If u truly value protection, use a TPU casing. Any SP, irregardless of glass or otherwise, will rob some clarity and light off. This is the same as putting a filter on a camera lens. The manufacturer can make all sorts of claims of how good the filter is, truth of the matter, the best image quality is obtained without a filter in place (referring to a clear UV filer).

Contemplating whether to hoot the zenfone 5, got an appointment at challenger today. Would the 2gb ram address the much talked about sluggish performance in the reviews? Or should I wait for xiaomi note?

best to try the zenfone 5 physically?

tried it at the hwz preview event, liked the clean design, size [not too small, not too big], camera features [pixelmaster, time rewind, etc]

minus would be lack of backlight for home, menu, back keys, and lack of removable battery, both which the redmi note has; am concerned about size & weight of redmi note though...
