I'm using mi 2..the very first batch released in oct 12. I'm still receiving Miui updates every friday.

Question (cos I can't find a firm answer anywhere):

If I purchase the Taiwan version ZenFone 5 (A500CG 2G/32G), would the OTA updates be that of the Taiwan version or Singapore version? (seeing as the handset will physically be in SG)

I am no expert but I am pretty sure the ota update will be a Taiwan version because your original firmware is already Taiwanese.

Ah… so the servers will push the updates based on the phone's firmware and not the location of the phone?

Would not like to brick the phone or make it bad by updating it with incompatible firmware…

Yah thanks saw cheaper option in aliexpress. Calling off the MO for taobao. But I do have doubts about the quality for the aliexpress one.
