I bought mine from asus store. I was just wondering how can anybody check if they are buying 2ghz or 1.6ghz without installing any third party app.

from the Asus store site.
A600CG is priced at 329 and has 2GHz processor,
A601CG is 299 and has 1.6

My model number is ASUS_T00G. Anybody with 1.6Ghz version? Share your model number? It can be found in settings

hope the model number can tell something - urs is 2GHz ?
but i suspect both 1.6 and 2 might be T00G
Zenfone 5 has 1.6 chip and the model number is T00J, right ?

the price increase from 1.6 to 2.0 GHz is not that much compared when the price drop when you sell without box.

I got mine from M1 Shop for "free"...

ASUS_T00G(A600CG) is what shown on the box so I presumed its a 2.0Ghz model, even the shop personnel doesn't know how to identify.

According to ASUS webstore:

A600CG - 2.0Ghz
A601CG - 1.6Ghz

In Comex, i think all display ZF6 were 1.6 GHz,
but I saw 2 model numbers under settings > about phone
T00G as expected, and
Z002 !!
saw this model number for the first time.
i think the best way to confirm is if written on the box.
or need to install some app to check.
unfortunately display set no wifi, so i couldnt install anything there and check

Settings>About Phone>Model Number = T00G ->2.0Ghz
Settings>About Phone>Model Number = Z002 ->1.6Ghz

If its true, then that's the easiest way to verify phone specs

but am not sure, i think all display sets were 1.6GHz, but still had 2 different model numbers.
lets see if any 1.6 owners tell us their model numbers.
only one seller, notebook.com, said he had 2 Ghz model for sale at 329.

After a firmware update, all apps will be checked for compatibility, so will draw more power if not close immediately. Try to close all apps and observe for a few cycle of charging.

For me, this tiny update does wonder - my phone never hang for the last few days! Before that, can hang once or twice everyday. Hope it can maintain that way.

One more thing, I re-visited the GO launcher and found it even smoother than the default launcher. The smart cover can still work.

Now waiting to see the $$ back in my bank.

Their process is really slow and no update. But asleast they offer 7 day refund.

During all these period don't dare sell away my iMax case and glass protector in case they chut stunt return set to me.

As of today 3/9/2014 I got back my refund of $299. Like finally.
