Just to add about the instruction, I downloaded the 2.19.40.15_ww_recovery.img then rename it to recovery and insert into the files folder.

Main weakness of the Zenfone is the battery capacity.

I'm now very weary of updating the firmware as there is always a high possibility of battery drain.

Really liked Asus user interface but the battery and firmware updates are a letdown.

not sure if this helps, but I use an app called GreenPower to turn off Wifi when my screen is off. This has helped to conserve energy.

Thinking of getting a $0 ASUS with recontract from starhub for my 14 year old boy.

Is the Zenphone 5 LTE or Zenphone 6 a better option.

Starhub is offering both at 16gb.

Have heard about some heat issues and would like to know if it really bad for normal daily usage?

p.s. Does the game lags with big game apps?

Anyone has any idea where to get ZenFone 6 with 2ghz other than the asus store? Most store has the 1.6ghz instead.

I face another issue after firmware update. The charging also takes longer time. Anyone faces the same issue? Previously using laptop to charge, it took about 3 hrs for full charge. Now, 3 hours only 40% charge.

I would not recommend getting the Asus due to the battery drain issues which is still not solved.
