saw this at moi friend FB :

And so, as I was studying for my upcoming exams, two Military Policemen from the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) came. They were from my Battalion to inquire on why I didn't report to my Annual In-Camp Training (ICT) yesterday at 0730 hours.

Honestly, I did expect them to just handcuffed me without asking me too much questions. Fortunately, all that did not happen. Instead, they asked me courteously, politely and professionally the reasons behind my acts. This truly showed how well and professional SAF had successfully groomed our Army men.

Anyway, I started by informing them that I did apply for deferment, at least twice, few months before the actual date for the ICT, and had even submitted to them all the documentations which they requested. Unfortunately, they did not receive it and thus led them to the failure to approve my deferment requests on time.

At such, as my exams dates drew near, I had to make a very tough choice. The first is to attend the ICT, and flung all of my exams, and later having a need to repeat every modules, as well as forfeiting the sponsorship offered by the Singapore government. Or alternatively is not to attend the ICT but risk every chance of getting charged.

I have to say it's an extremely tough choice to make and eventually, I chose the former since I already did my part by applying deferment way before the actual ICT date, and simultaneously, not wanting to risk any chance failing my exams by skipping it.

Now, back to the two Military Policemen. Before they left, they told me to sign two documents and informed me courteously again that they need me to report to camp this coming Friday at 0730 hours to have a "coffee" session with the Commanding Officer. Not only that. Before they made their move, they even wished me all the best for my exams.

Lastly, even though I know that this coming Friday there is a very high possibility that I may get charged, at least, there is something good to share about the men serving green isn't it? Their courtesy, politeness and professionalism had indeed project how successful our Army has groomed their men :)
