Airbnb and rent car for "at least" 50% of trip.

Generally I stay hotels in Nago with accessible beaches. Also, renting a car is easier. Their airbnb are hits n misses. Their hotels also not new.

1) I like to know about Okinawa Naha Airport - is there any shop in airport for prepaid card purchase?

2) We have suica, do Okinawa Yui rail uses suica also? I tok I saw there is okica...

You cannot buy prepaid cards in japan.

Tks. I check on prepaid card, need to buy outside of Japan (Via HK) costing $22 to $45 depending on days I need.

Will bring suica and try see see.

I bought pre paid cards via q10 the seller say can use... will be in Okinawa mid next month.... will update if can work...

i stayed at omoromachi coz the DFS mall is just beside it and care rental are all there. easily walkable to kokusai dori also

did you enjoy okinawa? i heard it's very different from other Japan cities like tokyo or kyoto.

it doesnt feel like japan at all. food wise it is very much like chinese food. scenery is basically a tropical island, so it is mostly beautiful beaches and scenic coastal view. so still quite good.
but i probably wun go back again in the near future, coz nothing really outstanding except for aquarium

If driving, anywhere in Nago / Naha should be okay, since both cities also not tt big.

Perhaps a good stop for budget conscious travellers en route to other cities in the mainland.

From my friends' reviews, it's not that cheap to fly over to Okinawa even for a short getaway. And the main beauty of this place would be the island hopping and water sports such as snorkeling and scuba diving. I probably won't do Okinawa plus Kyushu or Kansai together. Unless you've got lots of time, you could take the ferry from Kagoshima.

But with direct flights from SG by Jetstar, could still take a look at Okinawa on its own instead. My one cent.

Yes, indeed so if you're flying within the promotion period. Was checking on both airlines for my upcoming trip but the travel period is out of my travel period. So it's not as cheap as it has advertised.

Indeed so, both are still more expensive than SQ on the dates I wish to travel. Too bad. Perhaps another time.

How is the weather in Okinawa during Dec period? Will it be as cold as Tokyo of 5-10 degree? Being on islands and most sightseeing is on seaside, will the weather be cold from windy? trying to gauge how much clothing and luggage need to prepare for Early Dec 2017 trip. 80% of time we will be driving.
