OLD computer --- some help needed (i am lao unker)

I had an old computer (desktop) which had not been used for 3 years, and i intend to throw away.

I recently turn it on, initially it appears everything is fine, boot up normally.....and the screen showed the typical Windows 3-4 years ago....

i got a cup of drinks and come back, suddenly the screen is blue, with something like "bios" "got into safe mode" "protect further damage" etc

Then i try to re-boot, screen forever black, but the CPU seems working as indicated by the light flash.



1--- i like to check, if there still are some files i have not copied out, so i can copy them. Last check before condemn.

2--- i like to know if there are anything worth salvage, eg the hard-disk?????

Can list down the various parts of the pc? Like model of the motherboard, video card,...etc.
If intend to throw, please remove the hard disk hdd....all your info is inside.

I buy the ready assembled HP --- everything is HP

I think its just the motherboard bios failed, can try replacing it with a cheap one on carousell, see what happens.

The files on the HDD can still be salvaged. Just remove it, connect to another PC and copy the files over.

The BIOS is probably corrupted due to the motherboard battery being dead after all these years. Suggest you replace the battery and try again, should be CR2032.

Buy a Maxell CR2032 battery made-in-Japan only a few dollars to replace the onboard bios battery.
