Hi guys, I believe quite a number of us owns more than a laptop over the years due to newer tech thru upgrades. As such, how do you guys handle your old laptops..?

I myself have 2 laptops on hand. And they are somehow outdated. Looking to get a new lap. But not sure how to handle the old lap. Especially on the HD contents. I learn that no matter how you delete the contents from your HD, the deleted contents are always recoverable. And this makes me think twice of just discarding my lap.

Is there any place to handle discard laptop or electronic devices or even a trade in for a new one..?

Many Thanks.... :)

Remove the HDD from old laptop and install into a 2.5" enclosure to be used as external HDD. The rest can sell to kalang guni or throw away.

There are many free software tools that can securely erase the HDD content, just google for it.

As for trade-in, it might not be worth much but you can always inquire about it first like PC Dreams.

Lastly, you can opt to give it away, I'm sure there will be takers like myself that will find a use for it. If you really want to discard it, there are a number of e-waste collection sites across the island for you to dump it.
