Old LGA1155 mobo?

was using a chinese brand lga2011 mobo for a year, then swapped it out with another one with vrm cooling, both worked well. for legacy platforms id say they are a safe bet.

Hey buddy, do we have to strictly use ECC memory with the LGA2011 Xeons?

I once ran a E3-1240 v2 on an Intel h77 board with just Kingston value ram :D

no need ecc rams. been running non ecc all this time with both boards. u can if u want to though.

Great! Are you running V3 Xeons that require X99 mobos? Just worried the older 32nm CPUs might run too hot with so many cores on air cooling.

nah im on a v2 xeon on x79 still. specs --->
anyway both v2 and v3 xeons are 22nm. my 120w 2696v2 is being cooled by a $5 air cooler :s13:
