Mitsubishi Starmex aircon.
It has 2 small strips.
Anyway , I just removed them.
They are for sterilisation of the air. .Google said should be replaced every year....have never replaced them. 13 years

I opened my aircon, removed the small white/ light grey filter, washed it, and put it back ( still wet ). Then i googled . Said should not wash it

Dry it, then use toothbrush to lightly brush over both sides to restore the porosity.
