On current pc bug?

I5 4690, 8GB Ram, 970 GTX.

I just turn on it say

CPU or Memory Changed.
Press F1 to enter setup
F2 to load default...

I didn't change anything ytd. Normal shutdown.

Go system it say 4GB Ram. Strange

Shut down, turn on again. Same message. Press F1 but keyboard not working.

Press button shut down. Wait awhile. This time push the power button way inner.

The window is working fine. System Ram indicated 8GB ram. Back to normal.

Strange. I was thinking is it due to me push power button softer the first time I on.

Got do any hardware upgrade recently? Might wanna try reseating your cmos battery.

maybe during tat bootup, 4gb ram not detected tats why got cpu mem changed msg
then next boot 4gb back to 8gb detected, msg appear again since detected mem increased
then now no changes, so no msg

if happens again, maybe try taking out ram sticks, rub clean golden contact ram regions using soft eraser...

Hi,

The problem appear again. I just find out it depend how I push the power button.

If I push the top of button the error will appear.

If I push it from the centre of circle.

It doesnt show the error.

Could be either ram slots or the ram. When u press power button too hard, the ram might have jerked hence cannot detect the other 4G, but when u press on softly it manages to detect the offending ram slot.

If u managed to on the PC with 8GB ram detected. Try (at ur own risk) giving ur PC case a gentle kick. The PC should hang or bluescreen and bios give off continuous beep.

This happened to my old rig. In the end I changed ram slots then ok liao
