I intend to make a day trip to Bangkok. Go in the morning and come back at night. Main and only purpose is to pray to the four faced Buddha. Do not have the intention and mood and time to stay overnight. Is a day trip doable? Thank you

of cause your able to do so. go in morning back in the afternoon just for 4 face buddha more then enough time. can slowly take train somemore so as not to be stuck in any traffic jam.

Hi is possible as long as you plan yr timing properly. At least have six hours in between ba

yup u can cab there shld be abt 400+b
else u can take airport train to rajpraprop station then walk 20min to reach chitlom four face buddha

or u can take to phya thai station,
walk to phya thai bts
then take train to chitlom bts
then walk to four face buddha

tat is one big round, if u wanna skip walking 20min from rajpraprop station to chitlom bts near four face buddha

Hi luckygal, if yr flight land at bkk, airport to phaya thai take about 30mins then change to bts from phaya thai to chit lom 3 stops then about ten mins walk to erawan shrine

So fm airport to the shrine take about 1h plus. Would be much cheaper than cab right

Airport rail to Phaya Thai BTS 45bahts, take BTS from Phaya Thai to Chitlom 20 bahts. Total 65 bahts as compared to taxi costing around 400 bahts plus minus. Total time should be less them an hour.

For a poor person like me, 65b to 400b is a lot of difference. Thanks. So back to airport also same way just reverse right.

imho, going via airport rail + BTS best method as cab may still get caught in the BKK traffic jam

Phraya thai - chitlom is 25B
Phraya thai - siam is 22B

i usually walk from BTS siam as there's overhead walkway connecting BTS siam, and i don't find it any much further than chitlom

if really short of time, there is express airport rail (150B) that goes non-stop between phraya thai & Suvarnabhumi airport (15mins according to website)

anyway their express train always not much people taking lol
have taken before, think sometimes they would alight at makassan then phya thai ...

if express also abt 20min ...
if normal is abt 35min

the normal train frequency is faster, mayeb 15min once
however the express train maybe 35min once ...

yes, i also took the normal usually. express more expensive lah, diff compare to normal already cost me few bowls of kuay teow reua lol

rmb last year taken express is 90b from airport to city
maybe they have promo every now and then ...

usually wont take train
would cab as we have more ppl ...
we would always rent toyota pinic cab 600b
then the guy would fetch us from airport, wait for us etc
cox normal cab already abt 400 to 450b

tats why we top up 150b to take a bigger cab lol
at least we 3 or 4 us can put in more luggage
and the seats more comfortable lol

my last 3 trips this year have stayed at riverside area 4.5 stars hotel
cox booked at glitch pricing ... 40sgd per nite for two with breakfast ...
if by meter normal cab should be close to 600b lol
is super far, hence is worth haha ..
