Make sense. $800+ for Op11 local is indeed worth.

Just for my knowledge, why cant just use China set with color os without converting to oxygen os?

Is Google pay and other Google services working on color os?
Region lock is the main problem. And china roms can be problematic with Google services and have issue like notification delay etc...

Work definitely will work. Just that sometimes it can be a bit wonky....

and its not just Oneplus, all china rom phones have similar notification issues one way or another, esp ones where there is no notification until you manually open the apps, even if u have background sync turned on. Then now theres also banking app issue i heard esp OCBC. I used to own a china xiaomi phone, its really a pain in the ass with the many small issues where no app developer nor phone brand will assist you with since the buyer decided it that way. Theres also no confirmation that Play Store itself may blacklist the china rom device in the future. Remember when Huawei phones start to have no GMS and ppl sideload? I see in my fb friendlist's story reel showing her Play Store blacklisted her phone model and is not allowing her on her huawei Mate 30 suddenly one fine day.

An Lai. China Rom phone really not as bad as u claimed.....

For me, I did not encounter missing notification (where I had to manually open the app to see notification).

If missing yes. It does not appear in AOD. But once unlock phone. Or phone is in used. My notification work as as per any Android phone.

Banking app, macdonald app, all not problem. All google app no issue. Except for the below.
No android auto, nearby share, no google map location history..

Me been using china Rom phone since March.
Realme GT Neo 5 and Oppo Find X6 Pro.

I am not stopping anyone from buying any china rom phones. I am just saying it comes/may come with problems that I personally encountered and those that other people highlighted. Just for me I'd rather not be presented with any potential problems that may come with it, and my notification issue that I mentioned is not just my encounter alone. And like I said, there is also future unknowns. I dun wanna use a while then suddenly have issues and have to buy another phone coz it's my daily driver. And i suppose now I know who to refer people to look for when they have issues regarding china rom phones

Actually, it depends on personal preference ba. We are not forcing anyone to buy export sets. But rather letting everyone knows the cons of owning a export set.

For export sets, usually there will not be issue other than the below:
1. Some might face no notifications/notification delay for apps (This can be tuned in battery settings to enable Auto Start/Launch, and disable any battery optimization on the apps. However, some might still face this issue after doing so. If still facing issue despite setting the above, can just lock the app in the recents task manager to prevent clearing it from background
2. No Android Auto
3. No Nearby Share
4. No Google Map Location History
5. Oneplus export sets might have region lock issue

Heard that can pay a fee for service center to unlock the device, however, there will be a cost involved. So if comparing OP11 adding in the unlock cost, export set is about $820 + (unlock fee) and local set is about $87x, i feel that it is a no brainer to hoot local OP11 as local OP11 has a 2 year warranty with only 20-30 dollars more?

Have personally bought several export sets of Oneplus during the OP2/3 era onwards as locally there is no distributor for Oneplus phones. I dont use a phone for long though, so i cant really comment on the longevity of oneplus devices. but based on Oneplus track record, their phones are pretty much reliable, so the chance of sending it in for servicing is low, but electronics... You wont know one day you will need it. So will be good to have that peace of mind where you know you will be covered when you need it (maciam insurance)

bro, sorry ah i quote your reply abit
need to clarify that "export set" does not just mean non-GMS china-rom china phones. It actually includes those already flashed to GMS-enabled "global rom" sets, like those until 8T from Oneplus when flashing was simpler and more straightforward, and that once flashed over its literally a global GMS-enabled OOS Oneplus phone.
In this case, we are more of talking specifically about non-GMS china-rom phones, esp phones like Mi12s Ultra/Oppo Find X6 series where there is no global release, hence no official global roms. Those that ask about usability of these type of phones, even though right now is just installing APK for playstore and its working, can the people who vouch for these right now guarantee 0 problems in the future? Are they gonna be the ones to sponsor free replacement phones if that happens since they are the ones who stand by it and recommended it now?

Good point. Now even oneplus phones can't flash roms that easily liao. Now need msmtools to flash with the required username and password

Gone are the days where u download the firmware and upgrade via local install method

Yes. Agreed. If there is local set, why get an export set.

Local set give you a assurance at least in terms of warranty.

For me, If there is local set for my phone, I sure get local set.

The only reason you wanna get China set is because of significantly lower price.

Other than that really don't see the rational.

Lower pricing or better spec are the reasons for me. Sometimes CH models got better specs than global release ones.

I did. Hahaha. Couldn't take it anymore, $872.

Haven't started using yet, casing and screen protector also arrived already, will set it up soon when I have the time. Can I just kpo a bit, your set manufacturing month also April 2023?

I normally don't use the box charger one, keep using back the same old one unless really is slow until cannot. Currently plugged into socket one is this 100W 3rd party charger.
wa how to see if my phone is made in Apr 2023 :s13: but should be same same as yours since i bought last month only

Very... Siam bu keeps texting me, notification keeps ringing in front of my wife, flip alert slider, settled :s13:

Dont even need to unlock phone with the risk of wife peeping my phone :s13:
