not sure about 13, but on older OnePlus with OOS15, the extra dim mode is hidden. need to use third party app like "Activity Launcher" to find that settings page.

the app can be downloaded from the playstore, but can understand your hesitancy since i'm the paranoid sort too and would avoid relying on third party app as much as possible. even though it's pretty much just accessing settings that has been hidden, it probably still needs to look through what has been installed on the phone i think. it's a bit better than third party screen dimming apps though since those will need to do a screen overlay which requires more invasive persmissions... too bad oneplus (and xiaomi too) hides their extra dim settings for whatever reason. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

seems like older OnePlus 10R has the option too, sadly though it's only on or off only. can't adjust the intensity/level of dimming. for that seems like still need to use the activity launcher app to access the hidden menu.

Oneplus 13T.

It has been almost a week with it. It is my first China ROM phone. So yeah, all those weird/alien things happening during this week is indeed real.

It is indeed hard on me trying to get it figured out. Things like long missed notifications, trying to get rid of ridiculous or weird Breeno AI. And trying to survive without my heavily reliance on Google Circle to Search and extract text was indeed a painful experience.

However all that, nightmare ended 2 days ago. With accurate and timely notifications. And getting FULL Circle to Search and extract text functioning, finally it is all good now. With ONLY one app that can never push proper notifications, and that is TikTok. To be fair, even s25u do struggles at giving timely notifications.

Overall I have made a switch to this oneplus 13T to be my main daily driver, while my s25U be my office work related. Overall I find the phone extremely solid battery life with easily 40% battery from 5.30am to 9pm. With games, maps, calls, Whatsapp, photography, 5G network testing. The battery life is indeed a tank.

More to enjoy the phone in a long run.

my only complain is, i disable app names

before update, both home screen and app drawer app names will be hidden once i disable it.
after update, only home screen app names are hidden, app drawer app names not hidden

1 of the change log mentioned Redesigns the app drawer for a more consistent visual style, improving usability throughout the interface
