The OnePlus 13 will support magnetic wireless charging. That much has been confirmed by Li Jie, the President of OnePlus China. He did confirm it in a rather odd way, though.

Li Jie was responding to fan questions on Weibo, when he released that detail. He was asked whether bamboo cases would make a comeback. He said that OnePlus doesn’t have a plan to return them for the OnePlus 13, at least not yet.

He continued by confirming that wood grain cases are coming, however. He also mentioned that the “magnetic suction function” will be included in the cases too. Therefore, he basically confirmed that the phone will support magnetic wireless charging.

Now, it remains to be seen whether it will the phone support such charging only when an official case is a part of the package, or in general. It would be nice if it would support it even without a case so that you can magnetize a charger back to the phone itself. It remains to be seen.

This is not all that surprising, however. Why? Well, because OPPO is going down that route, OnePlus’ sister company. OPPO is actually preparing a range of magnetic accessories for its upcoming OPPO Find X8 smartphones.

Both OnePlus & OPPO will offer magnetic accessories

It seems like OPPO and OnePlus will end up having a MagSafe-like range of magnetic accessories for wireless charging. Chances are that OnePlus users will be able to use OPPO accessories, and vice versa.

The OnePlus 13 is expected to launch in China at some point this month. We still don’t have an official confirmation on that. The global variant will launch at a later date, though, we’re still not sure when.

The phone will be fueled by Qualcomm’s new chip, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 aka Snapdragon 8 Elite. We’re still not sure about the name. A 6,000mAh battery is also tipped, as is 50W wireless charging. A large 2K LTPO AMOLED display will also be included, and much more.

The OnePlus 13 was rumored to include a 6,000mAh battery. Well, that has just been confirmed. The OnePlus 13 will ship with a beefy 6,000mAh battery pack, and upgrade to the 5,400mAh battery of its predecessor.

The OnePlus 13 will feature a beefy battery pack, a 6,000mAh unit

Just to be clear, that 5,400mAh battery was already great considering the phone it’s in. It trumped the vast majority of the competition, both in capacity and longevity. Well, this new addition should bring things to a whole new level.

The phone will likely retain the same display size as its predecessor, or at least close to it. Its chip will be more power efficient, so we’re expecting to see even better battery life this time around.

How do we know it will include a 6,000mAh battery, though? Well, thanks to a certification listing from China, China’s TAF certification, which you can see below. The phone will actually include two 2,920mAh battery packs, it seems. That comes to 5,840mAh battery, but it will be marketed as a typical battery capacity of 6,000mAh.

Using a 6,000mAh battery in a phone is not new for OnePlus, though. The OnePlus Ace 3 Pro which arrived back in June has a 6,100mAh battery pack on the inside.

The device will launch at some point this month, at least it’s expected to

The OnePlus 13 is expected to launch in OnePlus’ home market at some point this month. OnePlus still didn’t confirm anything, however, so it remains to be seen. Plenty of flagship-grade phones are coming this month as this is the launch month of the two most important mobile processors.

The MediaTek Dimensity 9400 has already launched, while the Snapdragon 8 Elite is coming soon. The OnePlus 13 will be fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Elite, as OnePlus always utilizes the latest Snapdragon chip.

It was confirmed recently, by a trusted tipster, that the OnePlus 13 will feature the BOE X2 quad micro-curved display. That will be the 8T LTPO panel with a 2K resolution and an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz. An ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner will also be used.

One Plus 13 is suppose to come magnetic wireless charging, does it mean the phone doesn't need a magsafe case or need to attach a magnetic ring anymore? If yes, that will be good!

that should be the case. i think the OPPO Find X8 was shown in a video to support magnetic wireless charging too. it should be the new Qi2 standard which Apple helped to develop too? my guess is that it'll be the same so that those accessories can be used with their phones too as well as iPhone. cause it'll be crazy of them to make something that isn't compatible with the wide range of existing magsafe stuff and try to create their own proprietary accessories (which definitely won't go well lol).

Wow.. This is great! Might be jumping to this One Plus 13 if it's the same as Oppo Find X8.
Now only hope that it will be released with a flat screen..

8 Elite is not 8gen4 ryt?
there is no 8Gen4. the 8 Elite replaces the 8Gen3 directly. it's a new naming scheme since they are using their own Oryon cores.

it looks like it'll be the 4 sides all slightly curved screen that is popular in China these days. like xiaomi 14 pro, etc. so not exactly flat. :ROFLMAO:

haha. think this year a lot of Chinese phones will be like that. for those that raw dog their phones and don't use screen protector, will be shiok. cause nicer to swipe near the edges so nicer for gestures, then the screen area mostly flat so won't have colour shift etc. But screen protector probably harder to find liao. yeah, think still them. Global will be OxygenOS, though global launch probably won't be that soon. normally is China first, then other areas.

I see.. Thanks for your information. Usually how long is the global launch after China launch? Hmm.. If few months later, then can compare this with S25U le.. More choices then 😄

hmm a couple of months? but they launch the phone really early this year. the OP12 launched in china in december last year iirc. it was released in SG in february this year? and it was at a huge price hike iirc. the CN set was way cheaper and eventually during some sales was cheaper than buying a OnePlus 12R local set iirc, so a lot of ppl got that instead. Though not sure if it will be possible to flash global ROM on CN set this time round or not since OnePlus seems to be trying to curb that in recent years. Lots of pattern like having region lock, changing the hardware slightly for global versions so that can't convert as easily (Ace3 to 12R for example).

Samsung might be interesting just because of rumours that they might use Dimensity chips. If they use D9400 for S25/S25+ instead of Exynos, it could be an interesting option too. on paper so far SD8E does seem to have a slight edge, but D9400 is no slouch either and still a massive upgrade over SD8G3 and D9300.
