The price always fluctuate like stock market one. Like Huawei phones. Dropped to $700++ before.
I only rmb huawei mate 20(or 30) pro drop like crazy because of the google scare. Best deal ever. The next 2 phones i used wasnt even as good as it, and i change phone every 2 or more years.

for oneplus, they will always set aside a "platform event" price since they are probably informed of the discounts provided, unlike other brands where they strictly stick to the given price except preorder period. Even for Oppo and Vivo, for example my Oppo's preorder, their promo is only $99 off PO price of 1299, i.e $1200, and no shopee platform vouchers can be used. Its only the bank's coupon, in Oppo X9P's case, Citibank, that could be used to offset another $70 coz it does not bind to any other T&C other than min spending, Hence my PO price of $1140 for X9P.

After that, Oppo and Vivo and even Xiaomi, strictly follows MSRP of $1499(Promo price $1449) and $1599. And even though now can use vouchers, the price, at least for official brand stores, is strictly stuck at $1449 and $1599 minus electronics discount i rmb is $180 (now $110), whereas Oneplus during this kind of platform promo will lower from its MSRP, then also let u use platform vouchers on top of the lowered price

This makes Oneplus a better buy as time goes by after launched as the price will be constantly reduced. While others tend to be better buy at launch and then have to wait like at least 6 months later to see prices starting to drop to similar to launch prices.

Conclusion:
Oneplus - prices constantly reducing based on platform vouchers. Better buy as time goes by.
Oppo/Vivo/Honor/Xiaomi - better to buy at launch or at least 6 months after.
Poco - generally better buy at least 6 months after launch.

if u are going back to samsung, i'd say wait coz s26 series is coming soon. 15T is not confirmed, nor will it be anytime soon as 15 was just released, as well as if T series would be coming global as 13T was only for India as 13s and 13T(CN). What is the budget too, and if all round camera is one of the requirement

If compact phone is what you looking for, I suggest waiting for the op15T. 13T or S is not sold globally, apart from that 13T or S doesn't have wifi 7. Hence your option is only going for op15T.

If battery life is a concern then wait for it. Going S25 wouldnt be a great option, they usually dont tend to be great on the battery side of things.

Thank you for the input. Ahh i didnt know that 13T wasnt released internationally. I read somewhere that oneplus holds a significant amount of market share in India, thus that might be the reason. Im fine with Samsung's camera, and im not a photographer if that matters.

In that case i'll wait for s26 & op15T to release then. Yes the reason why i'd like to explore oneplus is because of their huge battery and OS that seems rather positive from user inputs. I also read somewhere that the s26 lineup wont expand the battery capacity above 5000mAh except for the ultra edition, which im not a fan of. 😮💨

Reason why i ask if all round camera is important is coz for your requirements, i actually might recommend 2 Vivo phones instead. X200FE and X300 coz of size requirements based on your S25, coz Oneplus right now do not have a smaller sized phone in general, all are about 6.7inches thereabout

X200FE has bigger battery 6500mAh but is a D9300 processor and lesser cam specs for the ultrawide (8MP).
X300 has smaller battery 6000mAh but is a current gen D9500 processor phone and has a 200MP/50MP/50MP all rounder camera.

I was considering x300 too to replace my other small sized phone S24. But haven't both X300 and X300 Pro doesn't make sense.

well i have op15 and x9pro, so tbh sometimes its about requirements, especially if the requirement is about small phones, as the options are way limited

I guess im waiting for s26 too. Currently on s23u, and op15 is a top candidate. Getting really tempted by honor tho. That day held the v5 in my hands and it feels damn premium. Immediately when to look at samsung fold and i feel like the fold pales in comparison, by alot. Not a fan of foldables, tho, so i assume magic8pro is gonna feel much better than samsung.

Hopefully the s26 can get good deal or can trade in, and it will be my top choice. Unless, of course, they choose to stick to 5000+ mah battery.

you are talking about S26 or S26 Ultra? The base variant rumour don't look good, no much upgrades. Only the Ultra have some minor upgrades, like 5200 mah battery and 60W charging, camera no much changes.

I wouldn't bet on the s26 to be long lasting in the battery department. Mind you they still not pushing the sil carbon battery. Even if you say the s26u at 5500mAh is not gonna be much of a impact also.
