Does OnePlus 6 comes with 8GB RAM?
Correct 8GB RAM... everything is super slick & fast.
TBH, OnePlus aces the game in several areas and if you are a techie die-hard who wouldn't mind a bit of the " Enthusiast " appeal, this phone may be just right for you. I think the problem is that some people either look at specs too much or are not 100% inline with what their 'must-have features' are. Granted OnePlus 6 is not a flagship phone per se (it doesn't have ALL the bells & whistles) but right sizes it to the core important ones.
What I like about OnePlus 6 -
1) Hardware design : absolutely premium appeal here, the Mirror Black finish is very swish
2) Super Fast (optimised) UI, also thanks in no small part to the generous 8GB RAM
3) Dash Charging is awesome & tops up your phone to near full in just 30-40 mins, and no heating too at that (it heats up the adaptor, not the phone)
4) Super Fast Face Unlock plus Fingerprint reader for when you can't Face ID it, (like late at night); that coupled with the double tap to wake screen has to be my No#1 standout win factor
5) I LIKE that Ambient Display is invoked when I tap or raise screen, its more discreet and I bet it also saves a little juice.. though some people are up in arms about not having 'Always On' [geez guys, see the world a little differently than how Samsung & the rest wants you to see it]
6) 3300mAH battery performing admirably - after over 24 hours of intensive newbie use, it's still registering 25% batt left
7) The speaker volume is just fine - some folks complaining it's teeny but it can get loud, I don't have an issue
Some of the potential 'dealbreakers' for some folks
1) It's still a 1080p display so if you line it up against a S9+ or iPhone X you'll see the diff. But I reckon it's just fine holding up on its own plus you get DCI-P3. various other colour settings if u want to tweak those
2) The PRICE in SG - if you get this from Lazada, it'll set you back a little below 1K, which incredibly, is $200 more than what's sold online by 1+ officially. I suspect the local warranty and various reseller markups plus GST, IDA cert etc, added to this plus it doesn't help that we are a small market. Ultimately, if you are going to HK, that'll be the place to procure it
3) No wireless charging - lots of hue n cry online over this though I can't understand why; wireless charging is still slow any way you look at it and why have it when the Dash charging is so stellar. Plus, glass back is to improve Cell / LTE reception - that one holds up coz my place is a bit of a blind spot in some areas but so far no dropped calls (tested)
4) No IP68 cert but it is splash proof- do I mind? Not really
5) No SD storage - if you are already living the Cloud life also, then this is really not a big issue; plus who wants to mess around wif a pin and SD card swap/removal when you are roaming overseas and want to switch up to dual SIM.
