relax bro, I know ram isn't everything (look at phone and bb), I was just comparing between n8 and op5t. I mentioned op5t is fast due to ram and almost stock implementation of oxygen OS. N8 has 4g ram but is lagging more prob due to the "heavy" touchwhiz OS

Sorry if I sounded confrontational but my thoughts are on the facts and based on sharing the experience. No harm intended. Oh btw, N8 has 6gb of RAM that's why it's faster than the 4GB S8 becos Samsung has too many services running in the background supporting the features it has. If you disable most of the services that forego some of it's features, it's actually very fast too.

wah, u sure will buy arnot? I had high hopes for you getting N8 or U11 but in the end you tactically go and hoot an ipX without a whisper leh. Still have my op5t, not bad. pretty good all round phone but no standout or unique feature to me leh. :(

I liked my OP5 back then but gave up because of jelly scrolling. So this time round really tempted to hoot. :D my main concern is actually camera, so camera quality same as OP5? Not letting go the 5T? Previously read that you hoot to play play haha.

Oh yah, its 6g ram and to think I owned the N8. I seem to be getting senile dementia nowadays :(
Yah having used iPhones, windows phones and bb which are quite skimpy in terms of ram, I guess OS has a big effect on lag . That said, I have both the N8 and s8 before and imo, N8 does feel a mite more snappy compared to the S8. if you check on ram usage, ram consumption is almost 3.5G on both phones.

N8 more snappy because of the ram and the optimisation of the Samsung Experience version, that’s why the s8 so lag compared to n8. Wait for Oreo, the s8 should be able to speed up and close to the n8. You gave up the note 8? I think it’s quite nice

the reason why I got the 8gb was for the 128gb of space. I don't like carrying around extra stuff like otg, and the op5T has no extra sd slot

Got any good tempered glass sp to recommend? Been reading that there are alot of issues with 3rd party brand tempered glass sp when applied onto the 5t. Even the official tempered glass sold by oneplus themselves also had alot of complaints. Based on reviews i came across, this one seemed to be the most recommended. Might consider getting a couple when it gets restocked. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077NK8KYM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1.

I think #4 from my previous post already talked about this. I think M10/P is a better buy based on the price of 128GB 5T

Seriously I doubt Oreo will improve it as the problem is touchwiz and not android. U nevthe to use the n8 leh, How u know it’s quite naise? The size was too big for me, plus the fp sensor placement is .....

Trust me, those users on Oreo beta for s8 the speed quite fast already, different experience than the current version of Samsung experience. Closer to note 8’s speed. You can check reddit.

What is M10/P?

Mate 10 pro.

Actually, if you tweaked the s8 even on nougat can be as fast as n8. Problem with s8 is the 4gb of RAM. On a freshly booted up s8 with minimal apps installed has less than 700mb of free RAM. Fire up PDP, disable a bunch of unnecessary stuffs and you should be good to go. I recalled I can disable over 130 packages so you can imagine how crazily insane Samsung is when it comes to bloat. Yup, some features are broken afterwards but I don't need those. The phone was fast and battery life was great.

Based on reviews, full adhesive like the original oneplus tgsp. So placed order before they went out of stock but delivery estimated 12 Jan - 17 Jan. Will review when I got it.

ah mate 10! yes it is a good phone but the target audience for this phone and Oneplus phones is quite different. ppl buy OP phones are more towards the enthusiast/zhng community. if these ppl buy the M10, they will get bored to death...

That maybe true during the 1+1 days becos it was powered by Cyanogen.

Nowadays, people buy OP becos it's bang for buck compared to other flagships, plus the phone is blazing fast due to the "almost" stock Android experience with some tweaks. But looking at the price of OP5T, it isn't so clear anymore.

Another thing I almost forgot is the support for Project Treble on Oreo that supposedly to be developers friendly but its not supported on OnePlus. M10 on the other hand is supported so you will see more development work once m10 is more available in the US.
