For me, the biggest problem for getting a Samsung phone locally (international) is the use of their in house Exynos SOC as compared to the SD 855 for the US sets. It's improved as compared to the previous gen, but still lacking in almost every aspect to the SD. And I don't have good experience with Samsung products over many years, so shunning anything from Samsung.

I never have any confidence in their exynos chipset. I really cannot recommend others samseng phones after trying 2 of their flagship phones in the past. One thing that never change is the horrible lag... This one nobody can dispute. That's why when someone said samseng ui is almost or same as oos, I must correct them that this is so wrong. Oos is so lag free, I can boldly say its almost close to ios fluidity already

Sometimes I feel that bc ios is v simple single task, you can't use widgets or do a lot of multitasking that's why it is lag free. Imagine if it becomes like android efficiency of doing so many things at one time, iphoje should likely be like samseng phone too

actually used s10+ for a short while.. they are actually getting better no lag whatsoever on one UI.. and updates are prompt (matching oos) at least thats how I feel for that 2 months.. I think how they streamline their one UI makes it easier for those updates to be push out at a faster speed though still subject to each telco release as well.

TouchWiz OS was a big problem then, but based on my own experiences with Samsung phones, Samsung is typically very slow to fix issues/roll out new software updates with their phones, and the hardware while nice to look at, don't last. I had 3 problematic Samsung Galaxy phones (2, 3 and 8) with something breaking within a year. None so with my iPhones, LG G4 (software update is also very slow), Huawei Mate 10 Pro, Xiaomi, Sony, etc.

Other observation is that Samsung phones tend to slow down over its lifespan, for example, updating an app on the Play Store. My Mate 10 Pro which was about as old as the Galaxy S8 completed in the installation at least 2x faster.
