If this is true, then it would be better to just get local set. Previous years local set always more expensive by $200++, many people like me just import one

:s13: precisely. heard this year there are some control measures taken to lower the pricing...

The OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro went on sale in China earlier today, with the base variant retailing for just 3,999 RMB ($565) and the OnePlus 8 Pro set to go on sale for 5,399 RMB ($765). That's $134 less than the U.S. equivalents, and it suggests OnePlus is indeed rolling out regional pricing for its devices this year. The key difference with the Chinese variants is that they run HydrogenOS instead of the global OxygenOS skin, but the hardware on offer is identical to the U.S. variants.

spending 1.4k for a phone with 1-3 months warranty a bit difficult to bite though... yes i can confirm china set is cheaper then local sets, but paying that $100 dollar extra for a peace of mind for 1 year for me is ok la :s13:

indeed it's a gamble and depends on your risk appetite
but need to see local pricing first to confirm, if really just $100 then definitely go for the local set

1200 need factor in gst 7% and shipping fee that adds up to about 1.3k liao... really just 100 for local warranty

Based on calculations, 1173 + 82 + 10 = $1267 to be exact, since now ezbuy got free agent fee promo. So those considering can weigh your options :)
