😅 most of the time year over year upgrade not as worth it one la.

Feeling itchy as well. :D

There's comparison video on YouTube. Not much difference in performance except on benchmarks.

So you'll get only that extra 30hz and faster charging

Auto white balance generally not too bad. But nightscape mode is inconsistent though. I've uploaded everything i took so far at original resolution here.

Day1 battery life. Pretty decent so far. Refresh rate is at dynamic 120hz. More social media usage so higher SOT. But consider it involved quite a lot of scrolling, it's still great. Much better than Exynos Note20Ultra at 120hz for sure. Left it on standby on mobile data (wifi off) for 4 hours and dropped like 2% battery only. Maybe just OxygenOS being aggressive at killing apps.

since op8pro local set was known to have issues with gpay on public transit, tested it this morning with 2 bus rides. tap in and out both no issues. paid for food at mcdonalds too with gpay. never test MRT though, and probably won't have the chance to anytime soon cause of you-know-what.

screen quality is okay on mine. no uneven tint on this unit (YMMV of course). Like a lot of previous oneplus phones the screen looks a bit more reflective though, but at least the brightness is good enough so that it's not as big of an annoyance as it was on older OP phones. Not sure if i'm just super picky since most reviews I see don't really mention this even though it has been the case for years. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Considering there are gaming involved, 6.5hrs seems decent but still a bit underwhelming... Maybe i am expecting too much :s13:

This one is loan unit for review that's why got a bit earlier (yesterday). :s13: I think for camera the only concern is with moving subjects lor. If you need take picture of kids/pets, probably have to sideload gcam.

from what i can see la, not really a matter of shutterspeed per se since with i see exif data, the shutterspeed should be more than fast enough to freeze motion one. My guess is just the algorithm not as good since all modern phones uses some sort of computational photography. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The camera samples look good. Night shots probably have to use pro mode for the white balance.

I've not tried any of the newer sony though. last one i bought was the xz2 premium. But if you want my guess, the OP8T will probably still be better value ba since even local sets are like S$4XX cheaper than the Xperia 5ii, and both running SD865. But sony probably still have more premium hardware features like official ip65/68 rating, 3.5mm jack, better camera hardware, better screen. Also i kinda like their battery care stuff like charging limit, bypassing battery charging while gaming and plugged in. So have to see whether you need those features lor. But feel like oxygenOS might still be nicer to use though, and OP8T if go for local set will have 2 years warranty?

To add on, if jus trying out for fun, avoid sony at all cost. Difficult to sell as demand is low, and in tun lower resale value

Bought a xperia 1 for 1599, sold 1 week later for 800 lol

I find sony software quite buggy though with my 1 week usage on xperia 1. Not sure about xperia 5ii, but i will still choose oneplus due to the OS

My most recent experience with Sony has been a bit iffy too. haha. The Android 10 update for the XZ2 was quite buggy. But 5ii does seems quite interesting with 3.5mm jack, 120hz, in a slim form factor. However, the price isn't really as competitive considering even the 128GB iPhone 12 is cheaper. I know sony is pushing their pro camera apps, and it's probably really good, but i have very little confidence in their auto mode. :s13:

Yes.. their auto mode is just :s22:

I have no knowledge on professional camera adjustments. Point and shoot and leave it to AI to optimize for me. So far only pixel camera can achieve good results reliabily...
